This photo was produce with a Nikon D200 (10 megapixel) camera and a 28-105mm F 2.8 Tamron Zoom Lens at the 105 mm setting. I used a homemade panoramic bracket ($10) and spaced the images manually with 25% overlap with a simple disk printed marking each stop on the paper and a toothpick that points to the disk, low tech but it works and is better than looking through the viewfinder in freezing cold wind. It is five rows tall and each row has 62 images. I stitched it using PTgui on a system without a raid drive (using an external 500gb hard drive) and it took 16 hours to stitch and blend the 300 individual images. The final file size is about 2 gigabytes and it takes photoshop 30 minutes to open or save the file. I imagine in the future I need to invest in some hard drive arrays to make these projects more tollerable. Final image dimmensions are 104174 by 18355. As I was alone, I did not ski West Willow this day although the powder was deep and tempting, I figured somebody had to stitch the images together. I would love your feedback or comments!
