These gardens are located next to a water reservoir that serves the Washington, DC metropolitan area in Maryland. Someone had the foresight to plant hundreds of these shrubs back in the 1940's. Today they are a two week spectacle for all to enjoy.
I used an old Nikon Coolpix 5700 with telephoto lens attachment. It is a 5 Megapixel camera that gives an effective focal length of 270 MM when used with the telephoto lens. The reason I used this camera is that I can take bracketed shots for creating HDR photographs. I tried doing this but I was unhappy with the results. This photograph represents 65 photos.

Timothy, This is a remarkable panorama ... you may want to add azaleatrail to the tagline line... we can start up our own Azalea Trail here on gigapan.org.
