Another in the series. I'm still looking for super definition and keen to process this in photoshop to adjust contrast (see GP22 and GP10) and to crop the edges but sadly the stitcher doesn't make this possible (Shortly after this I found out how to do it). see http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=26462 )and will delete the less clear versions eventually. See the bridge close up at http://share.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=27070 and the view from the top of Wills Tower at http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=27250 Balloon fiesta shot of the bridge is at http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=30205 and mass balloon launch at http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=30355 360degree shot from Wills Tower is at http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/33892/

Your series is most interesting. I am particulary interested in your GigaPans of the Bath-Bristol area; however, you would do well to always use your lowest ISO of 80 because it looks like to me that there is some noise at 200 in this GigaPan. This GigaPan may have looked slightly better if you had used 80 instead of 200 ISO (richer color), 1/320 sec instead of 1/640 sec (I typically use 1/160 sec or faster depending on shadows and/or clouds). http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=25935 Also, you may want to ask Kilgore for help since you and he are not too far from each other. He does some marvelous, actually incredible work using PS. Oh, I like the jagged edge effect.. it adds some character :)

Have you tried using Autopano Pro? They have just upgraded it so the price has jumped a bit but it does allow you to sharpen the picture and crop it. A trial version is available for download but it has some limitations :- "Can I test the program before buying it? Yes: we encourage you to download the trial version. It will let you try all features, with the following limitations: Rendered images have a watermark Projects files (.pano) cannot be saved Export to Panotools is limited (only the first image pair will be exported with all control points) These are the only 3 limitations; the rest of the software is fully functional. You can use the trial version as long as you want to evaluate the program."

2 questions: 1. Auto or manual focus - I've found Canon P&S cameras (I have S5IS) tend to override manual focus when there are both near and far objects, giving precedence to the near. 2. Is the IS turned off? The IS will create noise when the camera is stabilized on a tripod or other mount. I also agree with Texas Photo that an ISO of 200 will add noise to the image - found that out the hard way, too.
