Midway Geyser Basin - Yellowstone National Park (WY)

Now geolocated, this is a turnout that looks over Midway Geyser Basin (the famous Grand Prismatic Spring would be off to the right in the distance).

Very few people seemed to be stopping to look here, which is why we pulled over. Nice place to view run-off from the geysers entering the river (believe this is the Firehole River, but did not double-check that).

It's uncanny how many of the same spots we visited this summer, Jen. I guess geological minds think alike.

I noticed (there's a bison herd in one of your pans that looks eerily like one I know we stopped to see this summer). I'm wondering if we drove by each other and didn't even realize it.... or if the buffalo just never left!

FWIW, Mine is titled Midway Geyser Basin: http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=31121 Remarkably few folks using this viewpoint when I was there, too. It's a gem, though.
