13 foot tripod?

I was wondering who would be the first to question that. Typical tripods fully extended barely reach 7 ft. I am experimenting with adjusting height to change the perspective and produce a more visually appealing vantage point. What I have is actually a light stand, so it is not designed to be leveled on uneven ground, but works good and can be adjusted for up to 13 ft for a nice affect. This image was perhaps about 8-9 ft up. http://www.alienbees.com/ls3900.html

Slick! Much more portable than a step ladder (my guess). How do you level it outside?
