I re photographed this shot with an Epic 100 engineering prototype using the electronic trigger. I used a Canon Xsi with a battery holder and a Sigma APO 300mm lens. The panorama consists of 160 photographs out of a planned 200 photos. The exposure was ISO 100, 15 seconds, f11, Tungsten white balance adjusted to2900 Kelvin from RAW format. I used a fresh set of alkalines since my Ni-MH rechargeables were at a low voltage. I plan on using the expensive energizer lithium batteries due to the relatively colder weather of 35 degrees F. Alkaline mAh ratings are reduced under heavier loads or cold weather. |

Memorial Day Weekend, 2009 at Ventura Harbor, California. This was done using the Gigapan Epic 100 and a Canon S5 IS, this is 750 images at 12x zoom. Each shot was 80 ISO, with an aperature of 4.5. This took almost 90 minutes to shoot. Each shot was repeated three times using the Epic 100 multishot function. The total 2,250 8mp shots was done with one memory card and one set of batteries for each the camera and Gigapan! |

This was taken from a parking structure in the Perl district in Portland, Oregon. You can see the large freemont bridge in the background. I finished the panorama just before a train rolled by. There was significant rain and wind. I photographed the scene with an Epic 100 using a Nikon D90 DSLR at 105mm using ISO 200, f/8, exposure bracket +/- 1.33 EV with 5s, 2s, 13s with white balance set to 2600K. This stitch only uses the EV0 exposure bracket because I was too close to edge and small rain drops were deposited on the lens. The EV +1.33 shows the effect of the small drops of water in portions of the sky which are manifested as circular flare. I adjusted the white balance of the camera RAW files from 2600K to 2850K. There is mixed lighting with the monochromatic low pressure sodium lighting or something similar to it which yields different white balance depending on what lighting is illuminating a certian part of the subject. There is no visible sawtooth and I did not bend the camera plate. In the future I will photograph at a position that is behind any water on the ground so that the lens does not recieve drops of water which effect the brighter exposure brackets. |

View to the north from Burg Hohenstein, in Hohenstein, Hessen, Germany Taken on Easter Monday, just shortly before 2 pm. Exposure was calculated using a incident light meter, 1/250th s @ F8, ISO 100. Gigapan worked flawlessly, no battery problems (new set of NiMh batteries did the trick!). Camera is the Canon PowerShot SX100 IS, which is my dedicated gigapan camera. The exposure caught the feeling of one of the first really warm spring days we've had here. Nice castle, too, but this was a 300 image shot and there are limits to my wife's patience... :-) |

Hi -
This was my first attempt at a night gigapan and I had to go chose one of the most challenging scenes, that of Times Square, with all the changing lights and marquees. But hot diggity damn if it didn#t work out pretty damn good. Absolut kudos to the stitcher team: I don't think any other stitcher would have handled the inconsistencies here between pictures nearly as well as the gigiapan stitcher did. And it took a lot less time than I though it would! There are some problems with the giigapan that are my fault: I took out a row rather than rename a set of pictures, which is why there is that discontinuity at the bottom. Otherwise: extraordinarily pleased. Taken with Epic 100, Olympus E510, 40-150 lens set at 150mm (35mm: 300mm), ISO 100... |

Canon G9 with CHDK firmware enhancement to allow for 32 second shutter speed along with dark field subtraction. 200 mm focused at infinity / hyperfocal, 32 seconds, ISO 80. Stitched in Ptgui 8.0.2. Reduced -0.34 stops in Ptgui and then reduced brightness in CS3. |

This is fundamentally a redoing of one of the previous Gigapans I uploaded, which will be deleted... Here I did an error: WB had been set to 7500°, which led to a distinct tobacco-colored tint. This has been corrected in this gigapan, via Lightroom. Makes a huge difference, as a lot of detail was lost due to the dark tint that the first upload showed. Taken from the south side of the Oservatory Deck on the 86th floor of the Empire State Building, look downtown. Kit: Epic 100, Olympus E510, 40-150 kit lens, 150mm (35mm: 300mm), exp. 1/1000 at f5.6 |
