spacer This panorama was taken in Sam Houston Park where I went to search for this statue. A few years ago, when I first saw it, it was further up the incline to the east, but has now sort of been hidden and/or covered up by the trees. It was erected in 1908 and is truly historical.

The original panorama extended further to the right and other skyscrapers were visible but because of predominate artifacts, several columns were eliminated and this shorter version was created.

spacer Horseshoe Park as viewed from Rainbow Curve in Rocky Mountain National Park. Beautiful examples of meandering river features are present along the course of the Fall River. The alluvial fan that resulted from the Lawn Lake flood is also visible left of the center of the image.

spacer On or about June 23, 1925 about 38 million cubic meters of rocks and debris slid northward off of Sheep Mountain and into the valley of the Gros Ventre River, forming an impoundment that now holds back Lower Slide Lake. Almost two years later a portion of this landslide dam failed and the resulting flood wiped out the town of Kelly, Wyoming killing six people. In this GigaPan you can see the upper scar of the slide on Sheep Mountain and some of the debris that is still only sparsely vegetated over 80 years later.
