spacer The center for mathematical sciences (aka DAMPT)of Cambridge University.
Just a fraction under 360 due to cropping.

I'd like to consider this as a personal unofficial (unless someone returns my emails..) contribution to the 800 year anniversary celebrations of cambridge uni (offical site: http://www.800.cam.ac.uk/).

wiki page for the Center for mathematical sciences: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centre_for_Mathematical_Sciences_(Cambridge)

The image was shot over 4 days with a couple of hours per day (to try and preserve lighting). Done with a kodak z8612 is at 432mm equivilant on an unmotorised cheapo tilt/pan tripod. The ~1100 image took a day to render with an intel E7200, 8GB ram and standard hard drives. Rendered bicubic, multiband with the new Autopano pro 2. Post processing was done to fill in the sky (not quite as well as i would have liked) with a stitch of images at 49mm equivilant.

For more of my images from cambridge, and a handful from other places, check my profile here, my website http://lifeinmegapixels.com.

spacer Ten years ago I took a panorama near this spot using film. I recently posted it, http://gigapan.org/gigapans/30346. Providence Place was still under construction and I was down on the bridge over the river, so I couldn't see the capitol building. This time, I am on higher ground overlooking the river, Providence Place is flourishing, several high-rises have sprouted and the beautiful marble capital building is in full view.

spacer The abrupt east face of the San Rafael Swell where I-70 pierces it. Outside of Boulder, Colorado you'd be hard pressed to find a better example of hogbacks.

spacer Full 360 degrees this time. Stitcher 0.4.4329 fixes my 360 issue. Yay GigaPan Team!
The ridgeline at the center of South Mountain Park offers a full view of the Phoenix area. From snow capped peaks 50 miles to the east to the open desert of the west this 360 degree pano shows it all. It was not a perfectly clear day but you can still see the snow on Mount Lemmon, over 90 miles away to the south. In downtown, among the high rises you can see a gigantic portrait of Yao Ming, put on the side of the building across from the site of the NBA Allstar Game as part of an advertisement for T-Mobile. All four major sports venues are visible as well as ASU's Sun Devil Stadium.

spacer The granite slab seawall has been the host for many fishermen over the years, including myself, when I was a young boy. The "high walls" also served as a diving platform for me and the other neighborhood kids learning to swim. It survived many hurricanes, including the one I remember most, "Carol" in 1954, that put the wall under water with its storm surge. The land next to the wall was the terminus of a railroad line that carried out the products of the mills that used to operate in the town. The railroad line has now converted into a paved bike path that now goes all the way to Providence. The railyard has been transformed into a park that now serves residents who live in the neighborhood, providing a boardwalk along the wall and several acres of grass. The mills have been converted to condominiums and dock space has been expanded along the waterfront and in the harbor. But one place has survived, Quito's Restaurant and Bar, with the green and white striped awning, where I used to sell the quahogs (hardshell clams) that I dug up in the harbor when it was just Quito's Fish Market.

spacer Pula (Italian: Pola; Slovene: Pulj) is the largest city in Istria County, Croatia, located at the southern tip of the Istria peninsula. Like the rest of the region, it is known for its mild climate, tame sea, and unspoiled nature. The city has a long tradition of wine making, fishing, shipbuilding, and tourism. Pula has also been Istria's administrative center since ancient Roman times.
This is a 360° panorama made up of 520 images at focal length of 300 mm.
The panorama has been shot from the tower of the old castle in Pula.
Check this panorama to see the location I took the panorama: http://www.360cities.net/image/istria-pula-castle-tower
