Located in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, southeast of Edmonton, the Hall contains dozens of rare aircraft, some unique like the full size replica of the CF-105 AVRO Arrow.
See how many of the planes on display you can identify (with a snapshot) This GigaPan was subject to some vibration during shutter release causing some slight blurring on some frames. Will be doing a re-shoot in a few months. |

This is not the Air & Space Museum in Washington of course. But the Aviation Museum in Brussels has a very nice collection of aircrafts and helicopters. This is an excellent place to visit with your son and the entrance is free. |

The Lake Hood Seaplane Base has three water-surface runways on two lakes which are connected by a canal. You are looking across Lake Spenard in the near field, and across Lake Hood in the distance.
This complex is the busiest seaplane base in the world, averaging almost 200 operations a day. If you walk around the lakes, you will see all kinds of float planes parked in slips and by docks. Wikipedia says that there are 781 planes based here. Most of them belong to private pilots, but there are air taxis and tours available for your Alaska Adventure. Beyond Lake Hood is the Anchorage International Airport. The photograph doesn't show the gravel runway of the Lake Hood Airstrip. The 32 images of this panorama were captured on the dock at the Millennium Hotel using a Nikon D80. They were stitched with Autopano Pro. |
