Hotel Liro hotel is situated in the side of Kalaja hill, about 10 minutes south of the city center of Vlore. From the terrace of the hotel you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Ionian sea. This gigapan was taken around 1030am from the balcony of our hotel room. My only regret is that I ran out of space on the camera memory stick and missed a few rows on the right side of the image.

________________________________ This is the same Hanauma Bay panorama as http://gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=4450. It's 70 columns X 25 rows of individual 8 megapixel frames stitched almost seamlessly by the GigaPan stitcher. Wave movement and people movement result in some interesting, often fun, stitching results, though. Mahalo nui loa to Scott Telstad for fixing the exposure anomalies on the fully stitched image. |

Laguna Beach California on a sunny Saturday afternoon. |

This is a "time lapse snapshot" of a disc golf tournament in Huntington Beach, California. Disc golf is like regular golf, but uses frisbees instead of balls and clubs. The holes are metal baskets with chains designed to catch the discs. For more info, check out www.pdga.com.
For this panorama, I took shots of many different players driving, putting, and walking the course over a 2 hour period. Then I overlayed the action shots on the gigapan image, creating what I'm calling a "time lapse snapshot" of the final round (18 holes) of the open division at the tournament. |

Stitched from 513 (27x19) pictures.
The contrast between extremely rich and extremely poor neighborhoods sitting next to each other is typical of Rio. Thanks to Sheraton Rio Hotel staff for letting us to shoot this; and thanks to Emily and Carlos Pirmez. |

Finally got a decent stitch out of this using stitcher and manually fixing the skyline. Good enough for the internet, not really good enough to print...missing the fisherman's hand and some of the palm tress, which I could manufacture but would take a lot of time. Again shot in HDR but stitched through one exposure. Only kind of happy with it-- wish i'd gotten the fisherman's hand, obviously. Next time. |

This is a typical view along the Great Ocean Road in Australia. This GigaPan was taken just outside Lorne on the 21st of December. |

Known to most Arizonans as "Rocky Point," this beautiful, endless stretch of beach offers a cool respite for "Zonies" trying to escape the furnace. Las Conchas is a private community of beach homes and condominiums. Great fresh seafood, especially shrimp, is available right off the boat in the old town. |

Sutro Baths, the newly renovated Cliff House and Seal Rock (yes, there are seals on the rocks) in San Francisco on a very windy day.
Same area, different perspective: http://gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=27665 View from the other side of the mountain: http://gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=27659 Here's a link to what Sutro Baths used to look like. http://www.alamedainfo.com/postcards_of_san_francisco_3.htm Notice the buildings, the trams, the statues, etc. There used to be a place where there were roller coasters, other rides, and arcades at Playland. It was quite an exciting area. Today you see...well, what you see in my pictures. |

Little Corona Beach in Corona del Mar. I'd like to personally thank the men who didn't seem to get why no one else was standing in front of the camera. I knew I was getting into a tough to stitch situation with the time of day involved. Still, I like how it turned out. Now if only the Beta Imager could be updated to shoot in rows instead of columns, I'd have a much more usefull device. Such is the life of a beta unit. |
