Iemanja is an orisha, originally of the Yoruba religion, who has become prominent in many Afro-
American religions. For the believers she is the ocean, the essence of motherhood, and a protector of children. Africa: Yemoja, Ymoja, Iemanja Nana Borocum, Iemanja Bomi, Iemanja Boci Brazil and Uruguay: Yemanjá, Iemanjá, Janaina This deity is revered by thousands of people, believers and non-believers in the Umbandismo. On 2 February, thousands of people visit the beaches of the country, some motivated by faith, and many for the simple power of curiosity. Believers carry small boats with gifts, which throw the sea as an offering to Iemanja. |

View from our hotel room at the Regent Hotel Bal Harbour, Miami Beach, FL. Unfortunately it was a very rainy and windy day when I took this pano and somehow I forgot to re-do it on one of the nicer days after that. Oh well. You are looking out on Haulover Park, Haulover Beach. In the distance you see the city of Sunny Isles and the tall buildings are the new Trump tower residences. Get your own place on the beach starting at $2 million. Yikes. In this economy. Good luck. I actually took a wider pano of this scene but am missing some frames somewhere. Will have to dissect this to figure out what happened. Canon SX110 is and Gigapan Epic. |

The cape Kamenjak is Maritime Park in Istria/Croatia which has 30 km long cost, incredible beaches, bays and hidden places which can be explored. When visiting Cape Kamenjak, don't miss its southernmost tip where a great attraction is jumping into the sea from high cliff with torches.
This is a 360° panorama best viewed with Google Earth or http://www.360cities.net/image/istria-cliffs-at-cape-kamenjak |

When i take this picture i'm thinking to do a super pano from the region of the Ponta Negra beach in Natal city / Brazil, my inicial intention was just a big print in a gigant banner whith high quality, and that was done. But now whith this new site everybody can see the panorama in the full original quality.
thanks GIGAPAN. QUANDO BATI ESTA FOTO ESTAVA PENSANDO DE FAZER UM SUPER PANORAMA DA REGIÃO DA PRAIA DE PONTA NEGRA NA CIDADE DE NATAL, A INTENÇÃO INICIAL SERIA APENAS IMPRESSÃO DE UM BANNER GIGANTE COM EXCELENTE QUALIDADE QUE FOI FEITO, MAS AGORA COM ESTE SITE TODOS PODEM VER O PANORAMA COM A QUALIDADE ORIGINAL. |

The ocean side of the Outer Banks in Kill Devil Hills.
Still trying to capture wave refraction but failing - not getting the image timing quite right. Pretty view though, yes? Cloudy day - the clouds kept blocking the sun on an off (and it rained at some point, too). |

The Sculpture by the Sea exhibition in Sydney and Perth is Australia's largest annual outdoor sculpture exhibition. This exhibition was initiated in 1996, at Bondi Beach and it featured sculptures which were made by both Australian and overseas artists. In 2005 a companion event was established at Cottesloe Beach in Western Australia. In 2009 it was announced that Aarhus in Denmark would host the first Sculpture by the Sea exhibition outside of Australia.
This image is looking south over Tamarama Beach. Artworks can be seen scattered across the beach amongst the sun bathers. See if you can tell the beach regulars from the art visitors. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sculpture_by_the_Sea http://sculpturebythesea.com/ |

Chesil Beach is one of the finest barrier beaches in the World and forms part of the Dorset and East Devon 'Jurassic Coast' World Heritage Site.
The beach stretches some 28km west from Portland to West Bay. The pebbles are famously graded from cobbles here at Portland, to pea sized gravel at West Bay. Behind the beach lies the village of Chiswell, Portland harbour, where the 2012 sailing Olympics will take place, and the Fleet Lagoon which is important for its wildlife both above and below the water. The beach has withstood the forces of the sea for thousands of years but is occasionally over topped by storms and is slowly moving on shore and loosing its volume. One bay it will break up but when? |
