To the guy from Scotland who has my business card, this is the gigapan you saw me starting. This was to be a 180 degree sweep, but as I said there is a learning curve. This photo is 361 frames (19 columns x 19 rows, 1,869 megapixels) at 1/30 second shutter speed, with a 1 second delay in the gigapan between shots. In column 20, as the camera memory card was filling up, and it suddenly took more that 1 second for the camera to process the photo and save it to the card. So at the end of the one second the gigapan pressed the shutter, but no photo was taken because the camera was still busy saving the last one, so I began to miss photos. I did not realize it until about column 22, so I ended up ending the photo. I also had to pause the gigapan because of people crossing in front, and the steps were very bouncy every time kids ran by, so some parts of the image may not be too sharp. I also had to deal with the police, seems they don’t want people hanging out too long in one place with a tripod. I upped the time between shots to 1.3 seconds, and did several more gigapans that day with out any problems. They should be posted in the next few days.
