This is a picture of the Wenatchee River where it passes through Leavenworth, Washington taken on the 11th of October 2008 from a bridge just east of the city center on Hwy 2.
It is made from 10 photos across by 19 photos down at 9MP resolution at max optical zoom of 10X. I had a bit too much overlap, at ~50%, but oh well. Still, not bad for my first one. |

This old cabin sits by the road into Wells Gray Park about 20 km north of Clearwater, BC. Autumn colors were at their optimum. I'm also trying to find some history about this cabin as it was built by one of the early pioneers in this area.
Using a relatively long focal length I locked the focus on the corner of the cabin so the background is in relatively soft focus with a shallow depth of field. |

Sometimes you get a second chance to shoot a GigaPan, and this one is one of those. The one I shot the day before was cloudy and dark (http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/30798/). This day the sun finally began to break through, and the clouds that were still around were actually pretty photogenic. I didn't shoot with very deep zoom on this one because I had a bunch more locations to shoot before sunset. |

When you arrive at St. Louis's City Museum, this is what you see, except with people climbing on, around, over, and under "MonstroCity", an enormous structure made from the leftover pieces of buildings and vehicles. In back, the looming International Shoe building, where more like this awaits inside (and soon, on top). There is no place like this in any other city anywhere in the world! (But probably there should be.) http://www.citymuseum.org/ |

After cutting down a few trees I did a "beta" egg hunt. Tough part was having the kids not find the eggs before the pano was done. :) |

You can read about why there is a log cabin on the University of PIttsburgh campus here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Log_Cabin_(University_of_Pittsburgh) . In the background is the Cathedral of Learning. |

This cabin is located at the border of the Commander Island Strict State Nature Reserve. |

The light was not good but I shot it anyhow. Who knows when I'll get back here? |

This is the site of Thoreau's cabin near Walden Pond. |
