View of the north side of Hexham Abbey with Church Row houses on the left and a glimpse of the Market Place in the centre. This area of grass was the old graveyard and is about a metre higher than the surrounding land. |

The iconic bridges (seven in view or part reflection) of the river Tyne at Newcastle Gateshead Quayside, with the Baltic Arts Centre, The Sage Music Centre and the Hilton Hotel in the view. |

Another in the series of panoramas based around the historic core of Hexham and its wonderful Abbey. This shows the Market Place with the Abbey at its west end and the old Moot Hall at the east end. Beaumont Street (seen in previous Gigapans) comes in from the south and exits as Market Street to the north. Just left of centre is Hallstile Bank, a road leading north east originally becoming Alemouth Road an old toll road leading all the way to the east coast of Northumberland. Well worth exploring by clicking on the 'View in Google Earth 4.2' button |

Some of the old buildings on the left of this image and hidden behind make this one of the oldest working railway stations in the world (built in 1835) and now Grade II listed. This panorama should also have shown the signal box mounted over the railway lines to the left of image, but unfortunately a picture taking fault and a train to catch mean that we'll have to wait for the full panorama to be retaken! |

At the centre of Hexham's historic core the Abbey dominates the Market Place. Off picture to the right is the Moot Hall and Old Gaol. The Abbey Grounds (seen in a separate GigaPan) are off picture to the left |

The English Lake District on a beautiful winter's day. A view over Grasmere and Rydal Water in the English Lake District.
For those passer-bys inquiring about the Gigapan camera mount while I was taking an earlier panorama, the 360° panorama of Grasmere taken from near the lake has now had to be split into two due to a stitching problem (possibly caused by sun flare). The Grasmere panoramas are now being uploaded to this site. |
|
A 360° panorama of Bamburgh Castle and the long sandy beach below it. Apologies for the slight change in exposure near the end of the panorama - the camera battery needed changing which meant resetting the exposure & focus! |
|
A view of Hadrian's Wall as seen from the Stanegate Roman road, with Grindon Lough in between. |
|
A view north from beside the Sage Music Centre over the River Tyne and across Newcastle upon Tyne. Many of Newcastle's important buildings can be seen in this view and will be gradually added to the snapshots! |
|
Late afternoon looking north west over Blea Tarn to the Langdale Pikes. England's highest mountain (Scafell Pike) is hidden beynd the dark hill to the left of this view. This is a reload of this panorama due to a fault during the previous upload - it should now show more detail in the image. |
