This hillside of trimmed-bush sculpture, or topiary, is located at Union and Vine in San Diego, California. Not far from Old Town. There are hundreds of figures depicted, from a surfer to all kinds of animals. It's called Harper's Topiary Hill.

Erosion has formed these fanciful fins in the face of a cliff along the Pacific Ocean north of La Jolla, California, at Torrey Pines State Reserve. Created with Autopano Pro. |

This was taken from above "Beacons" beach in Encinitas, California, on 3/15/08, just as a storm was coming in. It was really windy at the top of the bluff, and I got sandblasted while taking the pano. I used Autopano Pro to assemble and photoshop to fix up some wave mismatches. |

The Winchester Mystery House ws built at the inexpert direction of the slightly deranged heiress of the Winchester Rifle fortune over 38 years. A phychic told her she must build continuously to protect against angry spirits of people shot by Winchester guns. It's weird and wonderuful, chaotic and quirky. Stairs lead to dead ends, doors lead to nowhere...
