Stadium entrance to the Chicago Bears American Football. This is my first attempt at a full 360 panorama. Originally intended for Memorial Day but the file was too large to be stitched on my computer. Soldier Field was dedicated to the fallen war soldiers and was named thus in 1925. I would have liked to have taken a panorama inside the stadium but football season is still months away. Some pixels are missing from this image, which most have occurred during the stitching, because the original photos are fine. At some point when I free more space on my computer I will probably re-stitch the image. |

In this view from the West Van Buren Street draw bridge looking north, you can easily see the Jackson Boulivard draw bridge. The draw bridges are still operated and are raised for the tall masts of sailboats, but most of the traffic (barges and architectural boat tours) easily pass under the bridges. |

This view is from the 103rd floor of the Sears Tower SkyDeck looking west. The weather was a bit foggy which caused the horizon to disappear in the distance. The strange shapes in the sky in the upper left portion of the gigapan are the reflections of people in the glass window.

Broad view of dune area. Not everything, as there is a small hill in the way, behind which is a large field of Little Bluestem. Strange curvature and poor stitch mainly due to shoddy camera arm. |

The Fern Room at the 100-year old Garfield Park Conservatory is both an historical and botanical treasure. Conceived by renowned landscape architect Jens Jensen as a “landscape under glass,” the room, shows what an Illinois landscape might have looked like millions of years ago. Jensen’s artistic stonework sets off several water features, including a Mendelssohn-inspired waterfall. The room holds more than 150 species of ferns and mosses, as well as many palm-like cycads, one of the oldest species of plants on earth.

Chase Central Promenade is the home to AT&T plaza and the famous Cloud Gate by British artist Anish Kapoor. This 110-ton elliptical structure is forged of a seamless series of highly polished stainless steel plates and is Kapoor’s first public outdoor work installed in the United States. A 12-foot-high arch provides a "gate" to the concave chamber beneath the sculpture, inviting visitors to touch its mirror-like surface and see their image reflected back from a variety of perspectives.

One of Chicago’s many ethnic neighborhoods, Pilsen began as an area predominantly inhabited by Czech immigrants in the late 19th century. However, in the late 1970s those of Mexican decent began moving into the area and it is now known as one of Chicago’s liveliest Mexican neighborhoods.
