San Francisco from Treasure Island at Night. I wish that I had taken a gigapan of the sunset that night instead of eating dinner. It was an absolutely beautiful sunset, but I was hungry and had not eaten since 10am that morning. I looked for a way to photograph this from Yerba Buena island, but it is difficult find a location with an unobstructed view without permission from another party. I used a collapsible portrait reflector as a shield against occasional gusts of wind. I also positioned the tripod with a large tree on the other side to guard against wind gusts from the other direction. I will definitely return to make another attempt. You can see Alcatraz island to the right. I brought the blacks level up some, so the Golden Gate bridge on the right is diminished to highlights. The Palace of fine arts is most likely behind the trees with the spot light shinging up at an angle at the edge of the Presidio in the marina district. |

Big Cottonwood canyon at the "remnants of an Ancient Sea" sign just below storm mountain. The big wall in the right side of the image has a couple of awesome multipitch climbs on it including the classic "Outside Corner"
I was experimenting with how much overlap you really needed in the field of view... guess I found out it is more than this! Too bad about the missing bits. |

Ferguson canyon is a nice cool climbing spot just outside of Salt Lake City. A great place to go for a few quick routes after work.
I ended up in the gigapan 4 times. That's me on the right side, once sitting down and then 3 different places climbing. |

View from a balcony at Austin City Hall. The architectural detail overhead is called "The Stinger" by locals. A construction site across the street is the future home of Austin City Limits. |
