Hawaii Pacific University Modern Media Systems class on the Fort Street Mall in Downtown Honolulu. Question of the day: how can a collaboration that includes Carnegie Mellon University, NASA, GOOGLE, National Geographic, and faculty and students at Hawaii Pacific University expand our understanding of modern media systems? In other words, what emerging, unique potentials are being leveraged by these institutions and their communities in our network of networks project? In part this image constitutes an exploration and manifestation of image-making technologies that provide opportunities for meta-connectivity and global community building. A compelling aspect of the global connection project is its attention to transparency. Transparency of technology, transparency of process, and drill down ability in the composite image itself.. |

Student Lockers (after 10-12 years) in the Photography & Digital Imaging Program. Holland College Charlottetown, PE Canada. Had only so much time to retouch so not perfect seams but I wanted to try this asap as the lockers are quite a feature and fun to read. This image is made from 9 frames from our 22mp Mamiya ZD with 35mm lens. Hope to have our robot in the next few weeks (and refurbished G9).
Well, it took 3 months due to various issues but we have the robot finally (and the G-9) and hope to do some tests soon and post images of PEI. |

From the top of McCardell Bicentennial Hall, the tallest building on campus, looking east to the Green Mountains of Vermont. It is a quiet Friday afternoon, but with much anticipation for the weekend's upcoming Quidditch World Cup. The quidditch pitches can be seen in the largest field in the scene.
Some technical notes are in a comment. |

Our thanks to the firemen of the Arvada Fire District who trained members of the 2009 South Pole overwinter crew for 2 weeks in September 2008. The training was challenging and very interesting. At times such as the moment pictured here, things got a bit heated.
This is a working fire station. The station is also used to teach students from the Fire Science Technology Program at Red Rocks Community College. The 15 images for this panorama were photographed with a Nikon D80 and stitched with Autopano Pro. |

When the weather gets warm, the art students like to work outside. Now that school is out, you see the things they left behind. Canon G10 on auto focus and with the Raynox DCR-1540 tele-converter, giving an effective 35mm focal length of 219mm. Auto focus worked well but one image is completely out of focus. Oh yeah, 2.5 second delay between photos. |

From the college organic vegetable garden, the science building (McCardell Bicentennial Hall) dominates the view. Occupied in 1999 after six years of planning and four years of design and construction, it cost $47.3 million. About 40% of students have at least one class scheduled in the building each term. At its center can be seen the largest window in Vermont. |
