A beautiful July 4th concert featuring the National Repertory Orchestra and the Lake Dillon Theatre performers. See how many American flags you can spot!
Created using a Canon T1i and Gigapan Epic 100. APG output to HDR to Photomatix for tone mapping to accentuate the holiday colors and scenic background, then blended HDR and standard exposure shots by hand in Photoshop to eliminate motion bluring of the people in the scene. |

This photos is a view looking East from the West End. American Airlines Center is in the far left.
This is my first GigaPan with my new Canon Powershot SX110 IS. IT is 12 images tall and 40 images wide for a total of 480 images. The stitching software had problems with the Fountain Place building near the center of the image. This building has only a few straight angles. |

The 12th Annual WYEP Summer Music Festival was held at Schenley Plaza in Oakland this June. The Duhks are onstage and a huge crowd is gathered on a beautiful evening. Aside from a couple of half-people, I think this turned out well. Given how many people were around, I'm actually surprised there aren't more people-fragments! |

"Durante el fin de semana del solsticio de verano se celebró en Porto do Son (Galicia) -ciudad en transición- en conexión con decenas de paises de todo el mundo un encuentro entre personas buscadoras para agradecer al agua el ser un símbolo de la frontera del campo unificado que nos permite mirar hacia el 2012 y dar la bienvenida al mundo que anhelamos" Goio Iturregui |

On a mild summer day, a band plays a free concert in the bandshell as crowds mill around the park and sailboats glide across the lake. Life is good! See http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=25707 for another view of the area. Canon G10 with Raynox DCR-1540 auxiliary lens. |

The Drake Park Munch & Music free concert series was founded in 1991 by Cameron Clark Concert Productions to provide families of Central Oregon with the opportunity to gather and strengthen the bonds and associations of the community while enjoying the arts, outstanding food and free music once a week. (African Vieux Farke Toure) Great music http://bit.ly/ubDEv |

This Gigapan photo is made on a concert by the Euregio Bigband.
This is an Bigband from Gronau with musicians from both Germany and the Netherlands (see http://www.euregio-bigband.de/ ) Because I was playing Bass Trombone myself, I could only make one set of photo's. The original GigaPan didn't look good at all, because most musicians had moved too much in between the individually made 150 photo's. Although the result was sometimes funny (missing or double body parts, the directors legs were 2 meters away from here body), the end result was useless. Luckily I was able to correct the stitching problems, because I had used a large overlap. After selecting the best photo for each musician, I did some cut and paste work to fix the stitching problems. |
|
I made two complete series of photo's of this Bigband. The director and some of the players were moving so much that they were either missing body parts or were playing on 2 instruments. I could correct this stitching problem by cutting and pasting the people back together from 2 different sessions.
For this experiment I did this on the induvidual photo's and let the stitcher program do its magic again. Maximum shooting angles were limited by the line of view from inside the entrance building. Next time I will leave the Gigapan outside and shoot from a larger distance. That might give a better result with less distortion around the roof. |
