Menefee Mountain In Southwestern Colorado USA
I hiked up from the highway but the Gigapan shutter plunger fell off in my truck. I ended up pushing the shutter by hand . I had seen alot of deer tracks on the way up and a few to many mountain lion tracks. Toward the end of the shoot I saw a large mule deer buck and was disappointed when I realized that he wasn't going to be in the pan. I got home and was pleasantly surprised to see I had caught some anyway. I must say that that this Gigapanning is great fun. It a new answer to the age old question "Why does a man climb a mountain?" Happy Hunting |

Taken about 10 minutes after the Durango-Silverton steam train pulls in. In the lower right you can see the "Sweeper Car" just coming in having collected cinders and put out fires tossed by the firebosx. (Fuji IS-1 300mm [barely fits the gigapan] stitched with Calico on the Mac)
Vertical bands of differing exposure may be caused by clouds moving over the landscape as the gigapan takes another column of photos. |

This is my attempt at a "how to gigapan" The first chair I built like this was for a man who wanted a chair to read bed time stories with his grand childern in. I call this "The Story Tellers Chair". |

Test of the Fuji FinePix iS-1 SLR like infrared camera. The camera just barely fits gigapan and for this test I wasn't ready to properly set the exposure lock and focus lock yet the opportunity to take a shot of the Durango to Silverton old time train on this last day of our trip was too much to not try for. Better results hopefully next time. |
