High resolution pan shot from the Alki Beach area across Elliott Bay. The vantage point from which this was shot is very close to that of an earlier pan. The season is different, and this one was shot through a telescope with a 1000mm focal length.
This pan focuses on the main skyline. To include more recognizable landmarks such as the Space Needle would have nearly doubled the size, processing time, and amount of manual intervention required. |

A 19-shot (9x2 + 1 extra) multi-row panorama, taken with a Bogen 3421 gymbal head and my Sigma SD14 with Sigma 70-200/2.8 EX lens. ISO 100, 159mm, 1/250 @ f/4.5.
Still learning the tricks and techniques to get good multi-row panos. I need to let the camera/tripod settle down a bit longer, as there is very slight motion blur in some of the images. |

Seattle Skyline and Elliott Bay from Kerry Park on Queen Anne Hill
This was shot from the same vantage point as the Skyline shot I posted earlier. The weather conditions were a bit different, providing a view of Mt. Rainier, but through slightly less clear air, resulting in generally less sharp imagery. The quality of the stitch is only fair this time, given inconsistent exposure, and somewhat more dynamic scenery: moving boats in the bay, moving cranes, etc. Still, the image expands on the perspective offered by the earlier entry. If considerably clearer conditions become available, I may try to get a better version in the future. |

Seattle as seen from Kerry Park on Queen Anne Hill. Mt. Rainier makes a great backdrop along with Elliott Bay. |

Pittsburgh, particularly the Point and the North Side, taken from the West End Overlook in Elliott on a dreary Saturday afternoon in November. It's my first 360 pan! Though the city is probably more interesting than the park--maybe I should have chopped it off sooner. The image started at the trees to the left of the flagpole; you can see it darken as the cloudcover deepened. The darkening on the right, after the walkway, was due to me pausing to exclude a police car that passed by while I was shooting. I ended up retaking two whole columns, and the light shift was noticeable. |

A six-image panorama of Seattle taken from West Seattle using my Pentax K20D and Sigma 100-300/4 lens @ 118mm. I used my Bogen 3421 gymbal head.
This image would make a very impressive 72" x 12" print @ 360 dpi... or it could be printed at 240 dpi to give a 9' x 1.5' print, but where would it fit? |
