spacer As you approach you can see both the upper and lower falls. As you get closer you can only see the lower falls. At this time of year (late fall) there is little water coming over the falls and it allowed people to play on the rocks below.

spacer Test post of large pano greater than 60,000 pixels wide

No post-processing (sharpening, cropping, color boost, etc) due to the fact that I can't even open the file (Too many pixels wide.)

Working with AutoPano Pro. I thought I had covered all of the ground when shooting, but for some reason the software is having some problems picking up some of the shots. Anyone know how to defeat this? I can't open this in Photoshop and add some detail from another photo.

I have several more from this day that I am still processing, and will upload later.

spacer In many ways, this view of Lower Yellowstone Falls has superior lighting as compared to the one that I shot the previous day (http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/30677/). In particular, and thanks to the tip from professional photographer Roger Devore (http://www.devorephoto.com), who was set up immediately to my right, there's a particular optical effect visible here that only happens for a brief window each day. Can you find it?

spacer Ledge trail is a long abandoned trail that runs from the backside of Curry Village up to Glacier Point. About half way up you can cross the creek and climb up the rocks to this spectacular view. At one time power or telephone lines ran up this way, and there are a trio of eyehooks embedded in the rocks, thus my name for this spot, "Eyehook Point". From here you can see down into Yosemite Valley with a panorama that goes from Yosemite Falls to Nevada Fall and everything in between. Royal Arches, Washington Column, North Dome, Tenaya Canyon, Half Dome, Mt Watkins etc.

spacer Falls Park on the Reedy provides an oasis in the heart of downtown Greenville in the historic West End. The park features a one-of-a-kind curved suspension footbridge and scenic overlooks, outdoor amphitheaters, world-class works of public art, nature trails, picnic areas, excavated mill ruins, several distinct garden areas, and of course the beautiful Reedy River with its impressive series of falls. The park has a self-guided walking tour with historic markers.

I think many people who have moved to the area in recent years would tell you that a walk through this park helped them decide to move here. I know it did for me.

This panorama was taken from just above the main falls.

spacer A first time visitor to Yosemite Valley may well be overwhelmed. So many things to see, so many places to go, what to see, how to get there!

May I make a suggestion? Take the Bus!
http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/bus.htm

While you sit, you are driven around the valley past spectacular views of the icons of Yosemite. Get off at stop #11 ( Sentinel Bridge ) and walk towards Yosemite Falls along the river. You'll have this amazing view of Yosemite Falls and the cliffs along the north side of the valley.

To the extreme lower left, crossing the river, is Superintendent's Bridge. In the middle of the view is upper and lower Yosemite Falls with the gully that the trail goes up to the left and Lost Arrow and Yosemite Point to the right. Farther to the right is Indian Canyon with Arrowhead Spire to the left and Lehamite Falls to the right. On the extreme lower right is the parking lot with the shuttle bus stop #11.
