226042x21693px image will make you surprised of the details and the hiden places that could be seen. This is I thing the widest view of the town Kocani where the alomost 70% of the town is visible.
This is the hand made panorama with predicted overlaping. I thought will never complite the result I got. Before last step corrections the pano was between 6-7Gpx, but in order to get the nice composition and quality it was cropped in Photoshop to 5Gpx. At the begining I almost reached the Photoshop limit of 300.000 px. Amazing experiance and result if you exclude the little visible mistakes. And the 30Gb file was uploading for ages. My apologies to those whose knowledge of the fierce territoriality of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds might make the above scene a perplexing distortion of reality. Rarely will the local male allow birds others than his mate to use a food source in his territory, so a feeding flock like this is impossible, and has a biological spookiness to it, like cloned pets. In a sense, the distorted reality is due only to the integration over time that is a feature of all GigaPan panoramas. It’s just highlighted here by selectively capturing the moments to integrate. This image is a record of one visit to my patio by a male (dark throat) and three visits by females (probably the same one).
In case Mom asks: EVERY ONE OF THE BIRDS IN THE PANO IS SHAUN WHITE (and his boo). (see http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=15884) Notes: The Epic 100 did not capture any birds in the panorama, so afterwards I turned off the imager, set the D40 to continuous shutter at 1/1600 second and single area autofocus, and waited. One can get carried away with this, so I made sure to drop in birds (and insects) only where they were actually photographed in the scene. |

Taken during Memorial Day weekend from the new Nichols Bridgeway at the north end of the art institute on Monroe street. The center of the image shows the Jay Priztker outdoor pavilion in Millenium Park. It was very windy on the bridge! |

These gardens are located next to a water reservoir that serves the Washington, DC metropolitan area in Maryland. Someone had the foresight to plant hundreds of these shrubs back in the 1940's. Today they are a two week spectacle for all to enjoy.
I used an old Nikon Coolpix 5700 with telephoto lens attachment. It is a 5 Megapixel camera that gives an effective focal length of 270 MM when used with the telephoto lens. The reason I used this camera is that I can take bracketed shots for creating HDR photographs. I tried doing this but I was unhappy with the results. This photograph represents 65 photos. |

This was taken in the Japanese Garden immediately to the west of the obelisk at the south end of the reflection pool in Hermann Park.

Outside the front of Phipps Conservatory & Botanical Gardens are the Sustainable Gardens. These beds harbor plants particularly suited to the Pittsburgh region and require little maintainance and will survive without regular watering. |

When visiting this place, it is easy to access from the parking areas in Hermann Park, especially those on the north side, close to the museums. These panoramas do not need my words to describe their beauty except to say that there are a couple more that are better than what we see in these five and those will be taken when I have blue sky and my robot to take a GigaPan. |
