Located in Worth, Illinois, this structure has become a landmark in the South Suburbs, partially because of it's size, but mostly because of the polished aluminum frame that resembles a sunburst that crowns the building. It's impossible to miss when you're driving through the intersection at 115th & Ridgeland.
Inside, the Mausoleum features life-size statues of the Archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. This type of mausoleum is also known as a "garden crypt." Unlike the more time-honored mausoleum layout, the burial vaults are in the exterior walls, thus eliminating interior corridors. Shot the day after father's Day, 2009. 66 images, shot manually with my 70mm lens, Canon 40D and Bogen 303SPH pano head. It's a full 360 degrees. |

My friend Judith has lived in this tiny house for a million years and has one of the most charming gardens imaginable. This panorama would have continued on, but both sets of batteries ( camera and robot ) went out during different stages of shooting and my beer was getting warm. |

A view seen by thousands a day as they approach the city from the west. |

This is the second Summer for these Clematis - and they are growing amazingly fast. The pergola overhangs our pond by several feet.
98 shots, each at 1/30th of a second. It was more windy than I thought, so there is more blurring than I want. Shot on a tripod, manually. Took around 10 minutes to shoot, 2 hours to stitch in PTGui Pro. |
