Picken Hall, framed by Spring foliage. Picken is the iconic building of the FHSU campus, located at the east end of the Quad. In a couple of days it will begin undergoing a renovation.
Congratulations to graduating seniors of the Class of 2008! |

Across the street from Fort Hays State University is this tight cluster of small businesses snuggled between the campus and a large area of dominantly student rental off-campus housing. Location, location, location! |

Cretaceous Niobrara Formation, Fort Hays member overlying Cretaceous Carlile Shale, Codell Sandstone member. Some nice fossil details can be seen in the large blocks of Fort Hays chalk on the left. Shot in the last few minutes before sunset. The Moon is just visible at the top of the image - it was rapidly rising out of the field of view. |

This small town in central Kansas was built along the southbound railroad tracks which have since been abandoned and now removed. One of the images near the bottom right of the panorama was corrupted rendering the last two columns unusable. I went back out to the turnoff into town on the highway and captured an image of the sign then inserted it in place of the corrupted image to finish out this pan. The sign, even back a mile to the highway, is much a part of the town. And yes, if it is the 1st Saturday of the month breakfast is being served at the church along with homemade baked goods ~ a pretty darn good deal! |

The Municipal Waterworks - Salina, Kansas. This panorama is one of a series being taken under the direction of artist Lazell Kitchen for potential use as a portion of a public art installation. The resulting work is to be placed in the Department of Building Services. |

The view from the ridge just north of the entrance station in the Hell Creek section of Lake Wilson State Park. |

I was on my way out of Salina, Kansas when I came upon this remarkable cluster of birdhouses in someone's backyard. Too bad it's the middle of winter - no birds at home. |

This gigapan was taken from the same location as my last Ceder Bluff photo. Only this one goes from west facing around to north-northeast facing. |
