A view over Ramsay Bay and the northern end of Hinchinbrook Island from Nina Peak. Hinchinbrook Island is a very large island national park in thr Australian tropics. The Thorsborne Trail on the east coast is one of the greatest backpacking trips in Australia, about 37 km long, following the coast through unspoiled beaches, rainforest, and wetlands. The northern end of the trail is about 1 km from the southern end of Ramsay Bay. The beach at Ramsay Bay is about 8 km (ca 5+ miles) long. |

360 degree, moment-in-time view of nationally recognized landscape artist Nina Weiss's studio including EVERYTHING: oil paintings in progress "(View from Ballynahinch" on the easel); finished paintings (back wall, Kelsey Lake, 49" X 72"); messy worktable and desk. Use your mouse to zoom in and detail any painting. Read the postcards on the door and walls; check out the titles of the books on the shelf; read the health warnings on the can of turpenoid! Visit ninaweiss.com for more images and further information. |

Just as I arrived there was an amazing rainbow over the mountains, but of course the sun disappeared behind the clouds a few minutes before I got the gigapan set up. I waited for 20 more minutes until the sun came out again and then shot this in the 5 minute window before the sun set behind the mountains. The camera was having problems focusing and so the system was missing images. I ended up shooting a 2nd gigapan right after the first and then replacing the blurry and missing images with pics from the 2nd set which didn't have as good light since the sun was going down. Those are the darker patches in the image. This overlook is just up the hill from my house so I might start trying to shoot the same gigapan every few days to work on doing some gigapan timelapse with the images. |

On the return trip from another photography job I noticed these fields of poppies. I managed to find a parking space and set up my gigapan. Not checking the alignment I set the panorama in action. Only after downloading the gigapan photographs onto the site that I noticed I have lost the detail. Must remember to take my instruction book. |

----- http://www.vallesoana.it ----- |

About 10 miles south of San Diego and only 5 miles north of the US/Mexico border, this mountainscape on the south shore of the lower Otay reservoir is one of the few seemingly pristine landscapes remaining near San Diego. Unfortunately, only 2/10ths of a mile behind the camera are massive new housing developments.
