A number of snapshots have been added to this pano, which is more indicative of what we are seeing than a general description here.
Another interesting pano with strong perspective can be seen here: http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=8669. Both of these views in Google Earth are most interesting to observe. |

France - Chateau-Thierry.
A beautiful chaos. The country of Jean de La Fontaine. Here, what is strange is normal. "Rien ne sert de panoramiquer à tout bout de champ, mieux vaut panoramiquer savamment." Where is the cat ? Tripod with Epic 100 on a roof. Body : Pentax IstD. Lens : Leica Elmarit 90mm f/16 Leitax adapted. |

Taken with a Leica D-Lux 3 at the same location as http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=27043 except that this panorama is not a 360 as is the case of the panorama taken with the Canon SX110. |

The sky was just exactly as it is depicted here... I metered on medium color brick. It is slightly underexposed, which I could have fixed in PS, however, I elected to upload directly from the Gigapan Stitcher to preserve the stitcher notes... this is beta situation, so, the info is more valuable than the quality of the photo. |

We have seen this view a number of times, but never on a November moring at this time of day and with the blue sky either. In this panorama, we see bordering the Academic Quad; Lovett Hall, Sewall Hall, Rayzor Hall, Fondren Library, Anderson Hall and Herzstein Hall and views of Keck Hall, Engineering Quad and Duncan Hall. This hand-held, 360-degree panorama was taken with a Leica D-Lux 3 camera and was stitched using the GigaPan Stitcher software. Additional details can be found on Stitcher Notes with information there concerning the GigaPan Stitcher run. Note: This glorius panorama can be seen in Google Earth as a curved panorama on a curved surface by clicking the link, View in Google Earth (assuming that you have Google Earth installed on your computer). |

This hand-held 360-degree panorama encompasses a vista containing to the east, Founders Court, Lovett Hall and across the Academic Quad to Pitman Tower, which is a part of the Humanities Building. Pitman Tower, Lovett Hall and the Sallyport can all be seen in numerous panoramas on gigapan.org. This hand-held panorama was taken with a Leica D-Lux 3 camera and was stitched using the GigaPan Stitcher software. Additional details can be found on Stitcher Notes with information there concerning the GigaPan Stitcher run. Update: An update from the Houston Chronicle provides a clearer picture of current Government plans for the schools and has been appended to the earlier article which left some needless confusion to arise: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/life/religion/6717563.html
Note: When I first U/L this panorama, it was entitled, Fear ! - 360-Degree Panorama, but that title may add to a sense of being a sensationalist, which I am not except to say that if my church was being shut down by the US Government, I would be a bit fearful. The news is that the Islamic Education Center in Houston is being seized by the US Government because of alledged illegal connections of the Alavi Foundation (from whom the IEC leases their building from) in New York City to the Iranian government. From the above Houston Chronicle article: IEC serves as a place of worship, celebration, community programs and study, according to the center's Web site. Its premises are occupied by one of Houston's largest Shia mosques and the Al Hadi School of Accelerative Learning, a full-time private Islamic school for kindergarten through 12th grade. When this panorama was taken, school kids are inside trying to study and are being protected, but I am sure that there is someone connected to this that has fear of what comes next. This hand-held 360-degree panorama was taken with a Leica D-Lux 3 and was stitched using the GigaPan Stitcher software. Additional details can be found on Stitcher Notes with information there concerning the GigaPan Stitcher run. What we see here has to be one of the most photogenic vistas of any campus in the world and I have been here with my robot and/or my camera several times, but never taking a 360-panorama:
The front of Lovett - http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/21048/ A sliver of Lovett and once taken and stitched, one of the largest GigaPans ever: http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/31703/ A GigaPan of Lovett taken a year ago, the morning of the afternoon where the GigaPan of Liz was taken (http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/12460/snapshots/37960/) here: http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/12462/ This hand-held 360-degree panorama was taken with a Leica D-Lux 3 and was stitched using the GigaPan Stitcher software and additional details can be found on Stitcher Notes with information there concerning the GigaPan Stitcher run.
