This is a gigapan I took from the Rankin Bridge of Braddock, PA. It was taken right before the torrential downpour that flooded Millvalle and reportedly produced a tornado that touched down in downtown Pittsburgh. The before-the-rain-haze might not make such a good photo, huh?

This image was a preliminary study for the creation of a detailed, 360-degree panorama of the Pittsburgh area from the top of the US Steel Tower and produced in conjunction with an investigation being conducted by David Bear at Carnegie Mellon University's Studio for Creative Inquiry. Taken from one of the "mushrooms" along Grandview Ave. on Mount Washington, overlooking Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle and the Monongahela River. |

The Monongahela waterfront as seen from the Hot Metal bridge in Pittsburgh. This area of the river has seen a lot of development on both sides of the river over the last five years. |

A view looking east over the Monongahela River towards Braddock on a windy day from the Calvary Cemetary hill overlooking Brown's Hill Road in Pittsburgh, PA USA. |

For comparison, I took two gigapans from this location: one with my A640, and one with the CREATE lab's SD800. This is the result of the latter. The exposure seems better on this one... :-( |
