The area where I grew up. Beautiful green tree covered mountains and green grassy valleys. Several logging units of varying ages can be seen. Logging is what sustains the little town. |

A splendid winter panoramic view from Wallberg, near Tegernsee, Bavaria, Germany.
The mount's elevation is 1722m only. But it is the last big mount at the edge of the Bavarian highlands and offers a splendid view into all directions. The image contains both, Großglockner and Zugspitze, aka Austria's and Germany's highest mountains. And you may spot parts of Munich as well. Taken with Pentax K20D and DA 40mm Ltd. (48 images). Tone mapping and sharpening applied. The original panorama had a contrast ratio of up to 14 EV. A more detailed subset of this panorama for the East Alps Main Chain is available here: http://share.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=15268 |

Montezuma's Head of the Ajo Mountains near the U.S./Mexico border in Southern Arizona. |

Red Lake Peak and Stevens Peak reside to the south of Lake Tahoe, alongside of Highway 88, near Carson Pass. This is a very popular area for backcountry skiing, snowmobiling, and other winter recreation.
I accidentally switched my G9 out of manual focus mode and only discovered it about halfway through the shooting so unfortunately the chutes behind the foreground rocks, and to the left of Stevens Peak are out of focus when you zoom in. |

There were two herds of Elk and about 3 stray males.
I hope to fix this and re-post it. Auto exposure, which has worked well for me, caused big problems here. Pictures on the sky forest boundary have blown out sky. |

This is a view of Boulder Colorado from the east of the city looking west towards the mountains. You can see the Flatirons, the University of Colorado buildings, and much of the downtown. On the right you will see US 36, which is the major highway that leads into the city. It has been a particularly rainy spring and summer in Colorado, so the hills are much greener than they typically are at this time of year. This image was assembled from a thousand pictures taken with a Canon T1i, 300mm lens w/ image stabilizer, and Epic 100 and stitched with the Gigapan stitching software. Photoshop was used for some minor post processing to change the exposure and to manually fix motion artifacts in the cars by copying in elements of the saved projected images files created by the Gigapan stitching software. The overall picture was fairly uniform lighting at this type of day, so I did not go with an HDR exposure (also due to the number of pictures that would have required). |
