I've been shooting huge panoramas from this location (look for the blue spraypaint that shows the center of my tripod) for 8 years, different seasons and times of day. This gigapan is my first non-DSLR image from there. Unfortunately, my Canon G9 doesn't zoom enough to get the detail I wish was in this picture. |

Hi -
This was my first attempt at a night gigapan and I had to go chose one of the most challenging scenes, that of Times Square, with all the changing lights and marquees. But hot diggity damn if it didn#t work out pretty damn good. Absolut kudos to the stitcher team: I don't think any other stitcher would have handled the inconsistencies here between pictures nearly as well as the gigiapan stitcher did. And it took a lot less time than I though it would! There are some problems with the giigapan that are my fault: I took out a row rather than rename a set of pictures, which is why there is that discontinuity at the bottom. Otherwise: extraordinarily pleased. Taken with Epic 100, Olympus E510, 40-150 lens set at 150mm (35mm: 300mm), ISO 100... |

Located at the north end of Battery Park City, at the corners of River Terrace and Warren Streets, Rockefeller Park features a playground, gardens, and a wide, grassy lawn with beautiful views of the Hudson River. The River To River Festival at Rockefeller Park/BPC concerts take place Wednesday evenings in June and July. There’s plenty of room to stand, set up a lawn chair, or spread out a blanket. All events in Rockefeller Park are free.

Footbridge looking toward Rt. 206. It was windy, the bridge swayed and probably caused the issue with the stitcher. Brand new batteries died or there would've been a greater pan. |

I was originally intending to continue this pan to the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, but just after I shot the Statue of Liberty the heavens opened up. The weather gods were just not in my corner for this trip. |

Here is the Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza in New York's capital which is Albany. Usually this is a pretty busy place, but everything is quiet this day after Christmas. Around 14,000 employees work in the plaza buildings. The New York State Museum and the Egg attract many tourists to the area. Have fun checking out some really interesting architecture. This image was stitched from a group of 60 hand-held shots using Autopano Pro. |
