226042x21693px image will make you surprised of the details and the hiden places that could be seen. This is I thing the widest view of the town Kocani where the alomost 70% of the town is visible.
This is the hand made panorama with predicted overlaping. I thought will never complite the result I got. Before last step corrections the pano was between 6-7Gpx, but in order to get the nice composition and quality it was cropped in Photoshop to 5Gpx. At the begining I almost reached the Photoshop limit of 300.000 px. Amazing experiance and result if you exclude the little visible mistakes. And the 30Gb file was uploading for ages. The two days that I tried to shoot the Tetons at sunrise ended up being cloudy to partly cloudy. The light was better the day I shot this one than the day before (http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/30797/), but not what I was hoping for. Nonetheless, I had time to kill while the sun got to work burning off the clouds, so I went for high detail - 4.2 gigapixels worth, as it turns out. |

Taken on a cold October afternoon (10/17/09) overlooking Turtle Pond from a Belvedere Castle overlook, this is one of the largest GigaPans I've taken yet. Almost 1150 images large, this took an entire afternoon to stitch using the newest GigaPan software (version 1.0). Note the top of the castle spire -- those are the instruments which record the official New York City weather. I'm sure this GigaPan would look better on a sunny day -- but there was something very nice about the windy autumn day that I think is well captured in this photograph. Also, the water is stripped in this image because the wind was really swirling and blowing the water around in all sorts of directions.
When it was built, the view from Belvedere Castle provided a vista over the rectangular receiving reservoir, which has been replaced by the Great Lawn, an oval of turf with eight baseball diamonds, loosely defined by plantings of trees in clumps in the manner of the English landscape garden, and, at the foot of Vista Rock, the Turtle Pond, redesigned in 1997 as a naturalistic planting, in which no single vantage-point reveals the water's full extent. Sunken concrete shelving at varying depths provide ideal water depths for shoreline plants such as lizard's tail, bullrush, turtlehead, and blueflag iris. The success of habitat for birds, insects, amphibians, and reptiles is embodied in sightings of species of dragon-fly not previously sighted in Central Park. In many ways, this view of Lower Yellowstone Falls has superior lighting as compared to the one that I shot the previous day (http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/30677/). In particular, and thanks to the tip from professional photographer Roger Devore (http://www.devorephoto.com), who was set up immediately to my right, there's a particular optical effect visible here that only happens for a brief window each day. The Fern Room at the 100-year old Garfield Park Conservatory is both an historical and botanical treasure. Conceived by renowned landscape architect Jens Jensen as a “landscape under glass,” the room, shows what an Illinois landscape might have looked like millions of years ago. Jensen’s artistic stonework sets off several water features, including a Mendelssohn-inspired waterfall. The room holds more than 150 species of ferns and mosses, as well as many palm-like cycads, one of the oldest species of plants on earth.
