spacer This was a fully automatic shoot with the GigaPanBot from the balcony at FAMU (University of Film and Photography), Prague during the panotools meeting.
On the right hand side: Prague Castle (Czech: Pražský hrad) where the Czech kings, Holy Roman Emperors and presidents of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic have had their offices. The Czech Crown Jewels are kept here. Prague Castle is one of the biggest castles in the world (according to Guinness Book of Records the biggest ancient castle [1]) at about 570 meters in length and an average of about 130 meters wide.
St. Vitus's Cathedral which is the largest and the most important church in Prague. Apart from divine services the coronations of Czech kings and queens also took place in it. The remains of provincial patron saints, sovereigns, noblemen and archbishops are interred here.
The Charles Bridge is only partially visible, but you can have a better view on the Charles Bridge here: http://gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=7648
In the middle on top of the Petrin Hill you can see the Lookout Tower - Prague's Eiffel Tower. 299 stairs to climb in order to get on top of the 60 meters high tower on Petrin Hill. There is a cable-railway leading on top of the hill if you don't want to climb the hill.
On the left hand side the Most Legii Bridge, from there you can have a beautiful view on the Caste and the Charles Bridge.

spacer On the left side the famous house by Frank Gehry in cooperation with Vlado Milunic marks the corner at the Jiraskuv Bridge. Officially named the 'Rasin Building,' soon after its conception it was dubbed 'Ginger and Fred,' as it dances like the famous couple Rogers and Astaire around the corner.
By mistake I used auto focus instead of manual focus. Therefore I missed a few pictures from the sky and the water. I took me a while to patch the missing parts.
Around 190 pictures at focal length of 410mm, ISO 200, F8, 1/250
You may have a very detailed view on the 'Ginger and Fred' house: http://gigapan.org/viewGigapanFullscreen.php?id=7677

spacer http://www.360cities.net/image/obama-prague click here to see the spherical version.

Barack Obama came to Prague for a couple days last week. Coincidentally, he came at a moment when there is actually no Czech Government - it was dissolved a couple weeks ago by our local slime balls. (It's a stroke of irony, as Czechs are hosting the presidency of the EU. But I digress).

Thousands of people - probably around 30 thousand, came to see Barack Obama speak on the Prague Castle Square (Hradcanske Namesti). Security was predictably very very tight. No throwable objects were allowed, except phones, shoes, and cameras. No SLR cameras were allowed for some reason. As a result, the panorama you see here was shot without my normal equipment. Instead I had to borrow my friend's camera. This image was made in 75 shots. It is a fullly spherical panorama (except for the bottom). Be sure to click the link above to see the "spherical" version. It's worth it I promise ;-)

spacer Administrative tower in Prague, Czech Republic.
It is quite modern and new dominant of Prague.
It is placed on metro-station Pankrac.

The tower is glass-based building and it is interested how much details of office spaces are visible through these windows...

It was not so easy to take this picture because it was captured on quite busy and public place. I could not find right moment for capturing the picture and people were very interested by GigaPan device...

This is Prague, Nusel's valley. It is taken from place near metro station Vysehrad.

You can find a lot of details in this picture (graffity, church, tower, ...)

It is my first try for Gpix panorama using GigaPan beta... But I made 'just' 0.5Gpix...

It is not good quality yet, I accidentaly set wrong exposition. It is overexposed picture :(

It was nice, bud 'foggy' weather then it is not so sharp...

spacer This bridge used to be the most complicated bridge in Prague. It contains 4 motor-ways and 2 tube-tracks hidden inside of the construction.
Nuselsky bridge is very important part of Prague's car transport infrastructure. It is very frequent bridge and nearly every car has to go through this bridge.
It overcomes Nuselske udoli.

This picture is showing all possible contrasts in Prague: old-city (Albertov church), modern-bridge, mix of old/new buildings...

See snapshots with graffity, details of bridge, strange roofs and comunist's type of office building...

spacer It was raining cats and dogs, and in between for just about one hour dry - the time I used to take the pictures. But the sky was grey, the colours dull and pale. So decided to do some photoshop work.

spacer The Royal Canonry of Premonstratensians at Strahov is one of the oldest monasteries of the Premonstratensian Order in the world. It has been a working monastery practically ever since it was founded in 1143. Fire, the Hussite Wars, religious wars, and the Communists all failed to shut down this institution. Even when the members of the monastery were unable to live within its walls, they gathered wherever they could and nurtured the spirit of their House until they were able to return to the monastery complex.

The Premonstratensians are an order of canons regular founded in 1120 by St Norbert. They are an integral part of the Roman Catholic Church, not only as an organizational, legal, and independent unit, but also, and especially, they are an integral spiritual element of the Church.

Ever since their establishment, a move seen as an attempt to reform canonical and clerical life, the Premonstratensians have tried to live in the spirit of their order's five ends: the singing of the Divine Office, the spirit of habitual penance, a special devotion to the Holy Eucharist, a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin, and zeal for the salvation of souls.

Strahov Abbey and its members also pursue this way of life.

The solemn liturgy which takes place at the Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady every day, a profound experience of devotion to the Holy Eucharist and to the Blessed Virgin connected with the formation of our own guilt, forms the basis for a life of saving souls, i.e. spreading the Gospel. The Strahov Premonstratensians carry out their work in the parishes entrusted to the abbey and in the parishes of various dioceses in Bohemia, Moravia, Slovakia, Austria, and Germany.

The source and centre of the life of the Strahov Premonstratensians is the convent at Strahov, where novices and clerics are brought up and trained, and where the abbot resides along with other representants of the canonry. The current abbot, the seventieth so far, is Michael Josef Pojezdný. He is assisted in the direction of the monastery by a prior, subprior, and provisor. The instruction and upbringing of the younger generation is in the competence of the master of novices and the master of clerics. Currently, Strahov Abbey numbers 80 members.

Besides its spiritual services and abbey life, Strahov Abbey also plays a role in the cultural life of society. The famous Strahov Library and the reopened Strahov Picture Gallery are cultural institutions proving to the world that the Strahov Premonstratensians have always cared for the development of culture and education.
