Another golf hole at Garland Resort (Monarch #11) that will be one of four change-of-seasons panoramics. I had my exposure locked and halfway thru my series of pictures the sun came out, becoming much brighter, and completely washed out the right hand side. The three foot bridges close to the green are barely visible. Has anyone paused halfway thru a picture session and reset their exposure setting? I will set it on automatic exposure the next time. Taking a series of pictures where you want to capture some detail in the woods really overexposes the snow. Just another learning experience.
By the way, can you find the Bald Eagle's nest? |

This shot is of the original Downtown Disney which was followed shortly afterwards by the Downtown Disney Westside. Downtown Disney which is open to the public, with plenty of free parking, serves as the shopping, dining and entertainment hub of the massive Walt Disney World Resort. This area only has dining and shopping, including quite a few highly unique stores and restaurants. It is a popular place to enjoy after a day at the theme parks or before guests head to the airport as you can find practically any kind of Disney branded product you can imagine, from inexpensive plastic trinkets to hundreds of Disney stuffed character toys to specialty art, jewelry and crystal costing thousands of dollars. If you look under Mickey and Minnie over the doors to the World of Disney Store you will see two cast members in costume. They are a part of the Disney magic as their only job, so far as I could tell, was to sprinkle fairy dust (glitter) on the heads of little girls. I have heard it speculated that Disney caters more to little girls as studies show that it is the women of the family who usually set the vacation plans, so Disney tries to enchant them young so they bring their own families back when they reach adulthood. |

Viewed from the parking lot of Rustler's Rooste, next to the Arizona Grand Resort (formerly the Pointe Hilton), snow-capped mountains are off in the distance, the only sign that it is winter to the golfers on the resort course. Mountains visible are, from the left, Piestewa Peak, Camelback, McDowell Mountains, Red Mountain and the Superstition Mountains. Most of Tempe can be seen, including the ASU campus, Sun Devil Stadium, the new high-rise buildings along the 'lake' formed in the Salt River bed. First big pan done with my new SX110 IS and GigaPan Epic. |
