Second attempt, still a stitching error...over there on the left. However, it's one of my own doing, as there was a duplicate photo in the sky. Somewhere I lost one single frame and rather than delete three columns, I duplicated one photo. The stitcher knew no mercy, however, and hence the artifact there. But this time no problem with the church off to the right, as was the case with the others. Lots of detail here, zoom in and see who's walking around! As always for this batch, date was off, taken not 30 Apr 2009, but rather 30 May 2009 |

Ohiopyle Falls on the Youghiogheny River at Ohiopyle, PA is the largest waterfall in western Pennsylvania. At the center of Ohiopyle State Park the falls marks the beginning of the fabled "lower Yough" a favorite of kayakers. After two heavy rains, the Yough was running high and muddy. |

The San Jacinto river (properly the west fork of the river) flows through Montgomery County, Texas from Lake Conroe to Lake Houston. River flow is typically light and is controlled by the release of water from Lake Conroe. In dry periods one can walk across the river at mid-calf depth. Between I-45 and Hwy 242, the river has a number of wide sand beaches. Although there is no park or official sanction for recreational use, the river is home to four wheelers, offroad trucks, skeet shoots, poaching, and the occasional ad hoc driving range. Motorized vehicles can receive a ticket from game wardens if the are in the river bed, but this is a minimal deterrent. |

A shot on an overcast day of Bristol floating harbour, looking down on The SS Great Britain (The first iron hulled, screw propellor driven liner) designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Next to it is the Matthew, a replica of the ship in which John Cabot sailed on his discovery of North America in 1497. The harbour is called the "floating harbour" because the river here is tidal and the water is held in by locks. I forgot to set this to save as a tiff so that I could make adjustments and it took so long to stitch that it will have to wait. This shot is 600 superfine, large JPEGs and took 15 hours to stitch. I seem to be getting better and working at the lowest iso rating with no image stabilisation has greatly improved the definition. A shot twice as wide, taking in much more of the harbour, is in the offing when we get the next sunny day!! Here is the first attempt http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=27418 |

There's time missing in this GigaPan. Can you find where it disappeared? |

The ridgeline at the center of South Mountain Park offers a full view of the Phoenix area. From snow capped peaks 50 miles to the east to the open desert of the west this 360 degree pano shows it all. It was not a perfectly clear day but you can still see the snow on Mount Lemmon, over 90 miles away to the south. In downtown, among the high rises you can see a gigantic portrait of Yao Ming, put on the side of the building across from the site of the NBA Allstar Game as part of an advertisement for T-Mobile. All four major sports venues are visible as well as ASU's Sun Devil Stadium. |

Authorized by the city of Canon City in 1929 the bridge is the highest suspension bridge over water in the world (1,053 feet). The river below is the Arkansas River. Note in the image the tourist train in the canyon and the wite-water rafters on the river. A helicopter is captured in three places as it does flight seeing. An aerial tram is seen in the far right of image. The image was caught with an Epic GigaPan and a Canon G10 having a 1.4X teleextender attached, giving an effective 200mm focal length. The GigaPan was optimized in Photoshop CS4. |
