Dutch gardens and roofs in a rural neighbourhood. I tried to make a 360 degrees panorama but my software chocked on the 550 photos it had to stitch.
Just get on your roof and start shooting. |

Schools out for summer, and it’s a Saturday, so virtually no one is in the photo. I wanted to get the courtyard below, so I rotated the gigapan 90 degrees so it pointed straight down. In this image the top left is the corner by the airplane, and the lower left to the top of the concert column on the right. There was a incredible amount of overlap towards the horizon, so the stitching there gets a bit crazy. |

This village of white-washed, thatched cottages has South Africa’s only slave freedom memorial. Moravian missionaries founded Elim in 1824 and named the village after the place where the Israelites rested after crossing the Red Sea. In addition to Gospel teaching, they mastered crafts such as thatching and polony-making for which the people of Elim are still renowned.
Many of the country’s rarest plant species are indigenous and the town has a thriving wild flower export industry. The Old Mill Tea Room is popular for its products made from flour ground at the Mission’s Mill. The Old Water Mill built in 1833 has the largest wooden water-wheel in South Africa and is still in use. The mission church in the centre of the village is a National Monument. Elim has the only monument honoring the liberation of slaves in all of South Africa. For more info see http://www.danger-point-peninsula.co.za/elim.shtml |

View of the Carson River Valley, looking north from my roof. It includes Job's Peak (10k ft. elev) on the extreme left, the Pinenuts Mtns. (9k+ elev) in the distance, the valley of the West Fork of the Carson River as it flows from California into Nevada, and a self portrait in the extreme lower right corner. My house is situated on a mesa at 5k ft. elev. Taken at 10am as a new snow storm is gathering, expected tonight or tomorrow. Carson City, NV, is nested in the distant hills 20 miles to the north. This is my third gigapan attempt and the first to upload. |

Directly across the street from the "corintha towers" gigapixel - I shot this in a similar way, but single-row with my 45mm tessar. |
