This lab is used for tissue preparation of whole-mount slides.
Tissue is sliced at 3-5 mm thickness and then fixed and embedded. Breast slides of 5" x 7" are serial sectioned to generate 3-D volumes of tissue. They can be H&E stained or immuno-stained. Left side- Stainless counter for handling fresh tissue - Slicer in fume hood centre - Tissue processors, standard and microwave. Right side - embedding and staining section. Standard microtome for 1 x 3 and 2 x 3 paraffin sections |

My daughter Sarah and I made this Pan on Oct. 19, 2008. This is her room. She started the shrine just after I had finished re-painting. I cringed but let her do it. I left the dead bee clinging to the curtain for interest. Also note the Jonas Bros. tickets on the mirror. |
