Cáceres es una ciudad del oeste de España, capital de la provincia homónima. Se encuentra situada en la zona central de la antigua provincia romana de la Lusitania, en la comunidad autónoma de Extremadura. Con 92.187 habitantes (INE 2008), es la ciudad más grande y poblada de la provincia, acumulando el 23,8% de la población total de la misma. Es además el municipio más extenso de España con una superficie de 1.750,33 km².
La ciudad de Cáceres fue declarada en 1986 Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco, ya que posee uno de los conjuntos urbanos de la Edad Media y del Renacimiento más completos del mundo. La Concatedral de Santa María, el Palacio de las Veletas (Museo Arqueológico), los palacios de los Golfines (de Arriba y Abajo), la Casa del Sol, la Torre de Bujaco o el Arco de la Estrella son los monumentos más bellos y admirables. Asimismo, destaca por ser la sede de uno de los cuatro campus con que cuenta la Universidad de Extremadura y por su dinámica vida cultural en el conjunto de la comunidad autónoma. Aspira a ser Capital Europea de la Cultura en el año 2016. |

Sutro Baths area 4 days later than my previous. I've included the other part of the area that wasn't in my previous panorama. I also sharpened the pictures so you can see more details.
I found numerous activities taking place, from fishing, surfing, jet skiing, climbing, animal/bird watching to hiking. Interestingly there's a person sitting by a seal that had clearly died and was bloated, thus decomposing and smelling. A 360 degree rooftop view on a beautiful spring day in the Evergreen neighborhood of San Jose, CA, located in the foothills of the East Hills / Diablo Range. With the spring rains, the hills are briefly green before the summer turns them golden. In the distance, you can see across the South Bay to the Santa Cruz Mountains and just make out downtown San Jose through the haze. Quimby Road, the major street visible in the panorama, separates the older houses built in the 70's from the new construction in the 2000's, including Evergreen Valley High School, which all sits on land that was formerly vineyards (Mirassou Winery). |
