Across the water from the famous Marcus square and all the other sights there is the church of San Giorgio on a small island. From it's Campanile (Bell Tower) you have a wonderful overview over Venice, Italy. |

Sutro Baths ruins with Seal Rock (yes, there are seals on the rocks) and the Cliff House in San Francisco on a really windy day.
Same area, different perspective: http://gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=27746 View from the other side of the Cliff House: http://gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=27659 Here's a link to what Sutro Baths used to look like. http://www.alamedainfo.com/postcards_of_san_francisco_3.htm Notice the buildings, the trams, the statues, etc. There used to be a place where there were roller coasters, other rides, and arcades at Playland. It was quite an exciting area. Today you see...well, what you see in my pictures. Nikon D700, 75-150 series E, Vivitar 2x Macro tele extender |

View from the Ocean Beach pier, Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA.
Taken from the same location than the panorama at http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=14506 This one was taken manually without the GigaPan Imager. I used my DSLR camera with a 300 zoom, so this panorama has some very fine details. But this camera does not fit in the GigaPan Imager. Waiting for the DSLR GigaPan Imager that they say they might develop. With the 300 zoom, I only took the photos of the coastline on one line. |

This is a Pano from the game (49ers vs. Raiders) @ Candlestick Park / Monster Park. This was taken at half time.
The game was good overall.....16th row from the field....50 yard line and the game itself was good !!! GO RAIDERS !! |

San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge Foggy |
|
This hillside of trimmed-bush sculpture, or topiary, is located at Union and Vine in San Diego, California. Not far from Old Town. There are hundreds of figures depicted, from a surfer to all kinds of animals. It's called Harper's Topiary Hill.

This pano was taken with the AutoMate 1.0 motorized pano head from The Gadget Works (TheGadgetWorks.com). It shows the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco at night, and was taken from the roof of the International Hotel. Well-known Coit Tower is in the upper right. Enrico's and The Condor club and several other famous San Francisco night spots and landmarks appear in the pano.
(Note that there are no stitching problems even though the camera did not rotate about the "nodal point". This is because there are no objects in the near foreground, the only time you might have problems.) |
