Taken from the View Lounge on top of the Marriott in San Fransico, looking west away from downtown. Visibility was not superb, so I may return and take the photo again on a more clear evening. Some opportunites for more excitement might also present themsevles when the convention center is hosting a large converence, or closer to the busy holiday season. |

25 photos stitched with Calico (autostitch).
Shot with a Canon 40D, with Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 lens @ f/8, 8 sec exposures, ISO 200 White balance set to 2800 K, and some minor exposure/curve adjustments. Original photos had lots of overlap between top and bottom rows because I couldn't just take pictures of the sky; not enough detail for stitching. I put a smaller version on flickr. |

A dive bar in the Richmond District of San Francisco on Geary Blvd.
This was an experiment in shooting in close quarters with the autofocus on, which ended up turning out really cool. Well, except for the four frames that the camera didn't manage to shoot. 5346 Geary Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94121 |

Photo was taken EXACTLY 100 years after the April 18, 1906 earthquake from the same location that George Lawrence managed to capture the city by flying his 49 pound camera with a train of kites. The modern image was created with a full size replica of Lawrence's swing lens camera and shot from a helicopter. The negative size in the camera is 24 inches by 55 inches, but like Lawrence the final print was cropped to 19 inches by 49 inches. More info can be found at www.RonKleinPhotos.com |

This was taken from the Pt. Reyes, California Lighthouse area looking south to the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, and Monterey area. The Farallon Islands can be seen to the west, and a few fishing boats, too.
I took this on the way to Jerry's Retreat at the Marconi Center. |
