This is a big gigapan I shot on Saturday evening. It's a huge Gigapan and took 16 hours to stitch. 47 images wide X 23 images tall totaling 1081 images.
I missed some of the balloons on the first pass so I backed the unit up and reshot a section. The lighter background in the sky was caused when I readjusted the exposure during shooting. The sun was setting fast and light was fading. This scene has contained two pieces by Sophie Ryder (http://tinyurl.com/lwsb2f) for some time now. I am really glad I finally managed to drag myself out of bed early enough to beat the tourists and take this shot.
It looks real nice in Google Earth. |

Addison Oktoberfest 2008 - September 18 - 21, 2008
I shot this yesterday evening on the first day of Addison's Octoberfest. It was still a little early so not many people are around. The guy in the suit with all the medals showed up after I shot the GigaPan so I backed the robot up and reshot him. My friend Joe has a new GigaPan also and we set his up and shot as well. You can see his gigapan unit on the far left. This GigaPan is 7 images high and 63 images wide, 441 total images. Tomorrow I shoot a Balloon Festival, so check back in a few days. Please bookmark this image if you like it or leave me a comment. http://www.addisontexas.net/events/Oktoberfest/ More than 60,000 fans of polka, German food and Paulaner Bier will gather in Addison?s spectacular Addison Circle Park for four days of music, folk dancing, sing-alongs, children?s entertainment and more. Addison?s four-day, authentic German festival is one of the largest Oktoberfest festivals outside of the famed Munich celebration. |

Looking up from the base of the talus slope along the Presidents Trail one gets a close up look at the four presidents against an azure blue sky. |

This mirrored room in the Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh houses three mannequins. The gigapan was taken with noone in the room, which is interesting. |

When the weather gets warm, the art students like to work outside. Now that school is out, you see the things they left behind. Canon G10 on auto focus and with the Raynox DCR-1540 tele-converter, giving an effective 35mm focal length of 219mm. Auto focus worked well but one image is completely out of focus. Oh yeah, 2.5 second delay between photos. |

The Sculpture by the Sea exhibition in Sydney and Perth is Australia's largest annual outdoor sculpture exhibition. This exhibition was initiated in 1996, at Bondi Beach and it featured sculptures which were made by both Australian and overseas artists. In 2005 a companion event was established at Cottesloe Beach in Western Australia. In 2009 it was announced that Aarhus in Denmark would host the first Sculpture by the Sea exhibition outside of Australia.
This image is looking south over Tamarama Beach. Artworks can be seen scattered across the beach amongst the sun bathers. See if you can tell the beach regulars from the art visitors. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sculpture_by_the_Sea http://sculpturebythesea.com/ |

The Angel of the North by Antony Gormley, is located beside the A1 Great North Road as it enters Tyneside. Now celebrating its 10th birthday, it is seen by some 90,000 drivers a day! By the way - the wings are in fact straight, and this image may be best seen in Google Earth! |
