a wide panorama from the Esplanade Roof Terrace, which is the equivalent of being 5 floors up, I have another gigapan of the rear view that looks out over Raffles Avenue and the Singapore Flyer in the distance
http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=16611 and a gigapan taken from the front edge of the Esplanade roof http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=16608 here are two gigapans of the Merlion http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=16633 http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=16644 |

The Esplanade is a premier theatre for performing arts in Singapore. It sits on the edge of the Marina Bay, a man made reservoir. It is separated from the sea by the Marina Barrage.
Paranoma was taken with a Canon 500D. Pretty heavy for the Epic. That causes problem when taking night shots due to the vibrations. Had problems when wind was blowing as the camera is sitting unsteadily on the arm of the Epic device. Some parts of the picture of the picture did not turn out clear due to the vibrations. Used a mutl-shutter mode. 1st click is to turn up the mirror which also allows vibration due to movement of arm to settle down. 2nd click then takes the shot. Appreciate comments on how to improve. |

This is the early morning view from the Marina Barrage in Singapore. The Barrage creates the large, soon-to-be freshwater Marina Reservoir |

This gigapan is made from a set of photos taken at the same time as http://gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=21260 but with AE-lock, appears to have fewer stitching artefacts than 21260. The sky is more uniform. Some detail is lost in the shadows as compared with 21260 but on the whole, this one is better. |

Taken from the Singapore River, near Boat Quay, this is a 36-photo panorama taken on a Canon G10, with the Gigapan Epic. Around 7:45 pm. Each exposure was 5 seconds. However, each shot was approx 26 seconds, to allow time for the Gigapan to move to the next shot and also to allow for the 10-second self-timer. This appeared to be necessary to prevent any lingering motion jitter or motion, arising from the activation of the Gigapan's motors. |

Singapore's icon is the Merlion, which is often cited as the no. 1 tourism must-see, drawing a crowd at all hours of the day. It looks pretty good from behind, as you'll get Marina Bay as a backdrop
http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=16644 and this gigapan gives you a better perspective of the Merlion against the rest of Singapore's skyline http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=16623 and here's a gigapan from the roof of the Esplanade, which is 250m away across the Marina Bay http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=16608 |

Singapore's Clarke Quay is a revamped leisure area that features an innovative air-conditioning system that manages to give visitors the sense that they are in a cooler climate without chilling them out of the al fresco dining that is the signature of Clarke Quay. Notable outlets at Clarke Quay include Singapore's only Hooters, which has enjoyed robust patronage since the day it opened its doors. DOP on this was Marc Campbell of 2xJump Media, I was DOI - Director of Ice Cream. Damn - Singapore can be hot just after lunch!
Here's a gigapan from Fort Canning, which is the grassy area just right of center http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=16728 |
