25 photos stitched with Calico (autostitch).
Shot with a Canon 40D, with Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 lens @ f/8, 8 sec exposures, ISO 200 White balance set to 2800 K, and some minor exposure/curve adjustments. Original photos had lots of overlap between top and bottom rows because I couldn't just take pictures of the sky; not enough detail for stitching. I put a smaller version on flickr. |

Finally got a decent stitch out of this using stitcher and manually fixing the skyline. Good enough for the internet, not really good enough to print...missing the fisherman's hand and some of the palm tress, which I could manufacture but would take a lot of time. Again shot in HDR but stitched through one exposure. Only kind of happy with it-- wish i'd gotten the fisherman's hand, obviously. Next time. |

A massive expansion of St. Louis's City Museum, featuring more slides and the infamous overhanging bus that rankled the city so much in the 1990s. More found objects from all over the city are here; the camera is positioned on a dome from the old St. Louis Planetarium, the mantis is familiar to people who used to drive along I-44 in those days. http://www.citymuseum.org/ |

This is the Belle Island Pedestrian Bridge and part of the Richmond Virginia skyline.
The pedestrian bridge is tucked under the Robert E. Lee Bridge, which is the span of Route 1 over the James River. It is surrounded by interesting things to see, like trains, the piling of the old Robert E. Lee Bridge and river rocks and rapids. Belle Island is a great place to spend an afternoon. Although there are some steep trails for dirt bikes and more seasoned hikers, the footpath around the island is gentle enough for novice and less ambitious walkers. I was impressed with the country setting nestled among the buildings and highways of the State Capital. Matt, thank you for showing me this place and for helping me make this panorama of a view with two moons. |

This was taken in Key Biscayane looking back at downtown Miami in the distance. The park closed at sunset and the police prevented me from getting in another shot! The sun turn even more dramatic after a few more minutes as I was forced to leave!
