The ridgeline at the center of South Mountain Park offers a full view of the Phoenix area. From snow capped peaks 50 miles to the east to the open desert of the west this 360 degree pano shows it all. It was not a perfectly clear day but you can still see the snow on Mount Lemmon, over 90 miles away to the south. In downtown, among the high rises you can see a gigantic portrait of Yao Ming, put on the side of the building across from the site of the NBA Allstar Game as part of an advertisement for T-Mobile. All four major sports venues are visible as well as ASU's Sun Devil Stadium. |

Spectacular Spring day with lots of backcountry skiers in Aspen highcountry out dodging the avalanches |

From the peak of Baldy Mountain at 13,300 feet, a panoramic view of Pyramid Peak, the Maroon Bells, Mount Snomass, Mount Daly, and Mount Sopris. We skinned up to the peak before an afternoon of fabulous backcountry skiing. |

View from ski resort Flumserberge over the hotel Seebensee and the Churfirsten mountains. |

Kotzebue Alaska as viewed from the hill above town. Stitched from 27 hand held frames shot in portrait orientation. Note the occasional "shivering artifact". Have fun searching for the third dog sled team. |

Brrr!
Taken at 3:30am. For the view later on in the day see http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=16453. The colours are not right because I didn't know how to set the white balance for sodium lights. so I had to 'correct' it by stabbing buttons at random in PS until I got something that looked a bit better. There is still some yellow in the light on the left - I guess it must be a slightly different type of light from the ones in front. |

The main lawn at Carnegie Mellon University. It's fairly empty due to the cold weather and because it's a Saturday afternoon. |
