Peaches and Plums are in bloom. There is a pair of red handled Craftsman channel locks placed by me in this photo. If you can find them... you win :-) |

Obergurgl-Hochgurgl 1.800 - 3.080m where snow is always guaranteed.
Located in the upper Ötztal Valley on the main Alpine ridge. Total slope length 110km (Hochgurgl ski area: approx. 54 km, Obergurgl ski area: approx. 56 km): Took this panorama end of April and as you can see there are not many people on the slope even the snow conditions was excellent. 360° spherical panorama mode of 420 pictures at focal length of 120mm. As usual best viewed with Google Earth or here: http://www.360cities.net/area/oetztal Some other spherical panoramas I made there: http://www.360cities.net/image/mountain-star-wurmkogl-alps-austria |

Virginia Lakes iis on the East side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, East of Yosemite, and North of Mono Lake. A chain of seven lakes are located in a high canyon with one located above the other. This lake is the lowerst lake and easy to access by fishermen. The other lakes progress up the canyon and the last one is well above tree line. This is an excellent place to find snow and flowers in the late spring in June or July. This was taken in early October, but the autumn was late, and the aspens had not yet turned. This image was made for cross viewing in stereo but has some splice difference due to wind on the water. |

Atop an ice pressure ridge about 5 miles offshore. Point Hope Alaska in the distance. Shot with the Gigapan robot. 40 X 4 =160 frames. Dust spots removed with GIMP photo editor. Stitched with Giga Pan Stitcher. Took about 15 hours to upload this panorama on our super slow arctic internet. Plenty of snow in this shot, but that is what the arctic is all about. I have found three 'non-snow' items in the ice field. The Man on the 4 wheeler and two others. Not visible over the horizon about 3/4 the way from left to right the ice opens up and there are folks camping on the edge also called the 'lead'. An incredibly memorable trip and a nice big pano to share. |
