Rising approximately 500 feet (152 meters) above the surrounding terrain, Sheep Mountain Table, topped with prairie grass, yucca and juniper trees, is a significant landmark in the Stronghold Unit (section) of the Badlands National Park. It’s reached in a 30-minute drive from the Ben Reifel Visitor Center in a section of the park contained within the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Sheep Mountain Table is also unique because it’s the only "table"(flat topped mesa) in which it's possible to drive on to its summit using a narrow, steep single lane dirt road (NOTE: normally only accessible with a high clearance, 4- or all-wheel drive vehicle). The road terminates on the summit of a prairie-grass and yucca topped summit ends at a pull-out that reveals a breathtaking 360-degree vista of the park, nearby farms and communities, and distant mountains.

Magic Table that makes everything work at

This Gigapan was taken from the Table Rock Cross area East of Boise. On the top center right is downtown Boise. The Idaho Botanical Garden and the Old Idaho State Penitentury are located in the bottom left and center of the image. The Boise State Football stadium is in the upper left.
The wind was blowing quite a bit and the camera was shaking during the shots. i was pleasantly surprised that the image quality is quite good overall. However, on the right side middle the details are somewhat fuzzy, probably due to camera movement that the stitching software could not fix. I thought about cropping this side, but the lower right side of the image is much sharper. This Gigapan was taken with a Nikon D5000 and 300mm lens. |

Qeytariyeh park is a park in northern part of Tehran. These days there is a Haft-Sin Table in this park.
Haft Sîn (Persian: هفت سین) or the seven 'S's is a major tradition of Nowruz, the traditional Iranian new year. It has a complex history and there are indication referring to Kayanids mentioning that (šahd, šir, šarāb, šikkar-e nāb, šamʿ, šamšād, šāya”) literaly (honey, milk, wine, pure sugar, a candle, branches of box-tree, and fruits) has been the seven S's on the Nowruz table. This Gigapan was taken with a Nikon D90 at the 300 mm zoom level. I am trying some experiments to compare the image quality with the P90 and D90.
For some reason the top right photos are not stitched. My Gigapan preview looked right. |

Had to restart this gigapan 3 times. First sunshine then wind then rain, repeating a few times. This is Cape Town!! This photo 400 snaps. Had to do a lot of work with sun and cloud intervals. Then problems uploading, first tried to upload 1.4Gig, bombed out after many hours, same happened with 700MB version. Shrunk it to +-550MB and converted to JPEG. Uploaded 190MB. It took ages. This is Africa, remember! |
