129 21MP RAW shots taken with an EOS 5D Mark II and a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens mounted on a really crappy tripod @400mm, f/8, 1/500@100ISO, and fixed WB. RAW workflow was done with Canon DPP, stitching with Hugin 0.7.0 and nearly no postprocessing necessary. |

Seefeld is a village in the Tirol province of Austria and is located 17 km northwest of Innsbruck. It is a popular destination for walking holidays in the summer, and winter sports in winter.
Seefeld, with its approximately 3,000 inhabitants and 8,500 guest beds, forms the core of the Olympiaregion Seefeld. The pedestrian district in the centre of town is great for walking and shopping in summer and winter alike. Seefeld is an important centre for cross-country skiing. The Nordic events at both the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics were hosted at Seefeld. The 1985 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships also took place here. World Cup competitions have been located here a number of times. The alpine skiing area is small and appropriate for beginners. There are two separate small areas which are not connected except by a ski bus or taxis. The terrain itself is quite good and there is good access to other facilities (walks, shops and the Olympia swimming complex). This is a 360 degree gigapan taken in the gardens of castle Trauttmansdorf 10 minutes from the city of Meran in South Tirol. In the old castle is now a museum on the history of Tourism in the region of South Tirol. It is a very interesting museum, with lots of old items from the hotel and tourism industry. The garden in also well worth a visit, though next time I will go there in spring when evrything is in bloom. The areay around Meran is full of apple plantations. I had to use a railing to put my gigapan on, as I went on a several day trip to northern Italy without my tripod. |

Das Timmelsjoch (2474 m ü. A.; ital. Passo del Rombo) ist seit 1919 ein Grenzpass zwischen Österreich (Bundesland Tirol) und Italien (Provinz Südtirol) und der höchste unvergletscherte Übergang zwischen Reschenpass und Brennerpass. Es verbindet das Ötztal (Sölden) mit Passeier (St. Leonhard in Passeier und weiter nach Meran). Sie ist die höchste befestigte Passstraße in Österreich. Das Skigebiet Meran 2000 liegt unter dem Berg Ifinger auf einem Hochplateau oberhalb Meran am Tschöggelberg in Südtirol. Es hat 45 km Alpin-Pisten und reicht von 1670 bis 2300 m Höhe. Im Sommer wandelt sich das Gebiet in ein Wanderparadies, das von Touristen und Einheimischen gleichermaßen als Naherholungsort genutzt wird. Von Meran aus ist das Gebiet direkt über die Seilbahn ab Naif erreichbar. Nahe gelegen ist auch die kleine Berggemeinde Hafling, die den berühmten Haflinger Pferden den Namen gab.
