Trakai Island Castle (Lithuanian: Trakų salos pilis) is located in Trakai, Lithuania on an island on the shores of Lake Galvė. The castle is sometimes referred to as "Little Marienburg". The construction of the stone castle was begun in the 14th century by Kęstutis, and around 1409 major works were completed by his son Vytautas the Great, who died in this castle in 1430. Trakai was one of the main centers of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the castle held great strategic importance. [From Wikipedia.]

Panorama taken during a business trip to New Delhi. The roof of the building was covered with water. This is the most beautiful hotel i have ever stayed at. At night the pool seen below was lighted by open fires. It felt like being in the middle of Aladdins world... |

The Indian River at the Melbourne Causeway. Shot with aperture priority to accent the clouds. I really need to just break down and buy a polarizing filter one of these days. |

This is a pond in Coonskin Park in Charleston, WV. Officially named Herscher Lake, but generally referred to as the Duck Pond (by everyone I know, at least), even though it looks like the geese now far outnumber the ducks. Along with a nice paved path around the 2.5 acre pond, the area features a nice playground, miniature golf, pedal boats (in summer), a skateboard park, and free fishing. For more info about the pond and Coonskin in general, see: http://www.kcprc.com/coonskin.html |

Labor Day weekend on Lake Shasta... the water level is much lower than normal this year. (Shasta is a major water source for Northern CA, and the water level is dropping about 5" per day! Each of the lines on the bank is one day's worth of erosion from the level dropping. Anyone who does not believe that California has an impending water crisis should see this.) The scene was surreal, but very relaxing. Check out the doppelgängers in the boat and on the water. |

After about 3-4 days of wrestling with my computer, I finally got an hdr panorama i'm really happy with. Bracketed +/- 2.0, tone mapped as hdrs in photomatix, stiched using autopano giga, corrected and exported in photoshop. A lot of work, but I really like the result, and the fact that this would be 3.5 x 13 ft long at 250 dpi. More to come! |

This is the high overlook over Slato Bossetti, at the end of the trail circuit just below the really big one. |
