A fourteen thousand foot altitude gigapan, taken on the top of Mount Democrat, one of Colorad's many tall mountains. A beautiful fall day, you can see the aspen starting to change. Mount Democrat is nearby Mount Lincoln and Mount Bross, which also can be climbed as part of a circuit of 14 thousand foot peaks.
This image was taken with a Canon T1i with a 300mm image stabilized lens- zoomed out to 55mm. An Epic 100 was used to take the photos, and it was stitched with APG. Attempted to do an HDR of this scene after taking this photo, but the cold weather removed the charge from the Epic 100 batteries before I could complete it. Photoshop used for minor image retouching, setting transparency on some of the moving people to avoid bluring in APG.

After a hike up Mount Democrat, one of Colorado's 14 thousand foot peaks, I got back to the parking lot and took this panorama looking back up at the mountain. The lighting was excellent, and while cloudswere forming none were casting shadows over the scene. If you look carefully you can see a few hikers.
This image was taken with a Canon T1i with a 300mm lens w/image stabilizer zoomed all the way out to 55mm. An Epic 100 was used to take the photos, and it was stitched with APG. I took the photo in HDR, but found the mountains looked most natural using the non-HDR 1/320 assembled shot (due to the uniform light), but that the clouds looked best from the HDR image. So I used Photoshop to combine the images, retaining the colors of the 1/320 but pulling in the HDR clouds which have more definition.

This is a view of Boulder Colorado from the east of the city looking west towards the mountains. You can see the Flatirons, the University of Colorado buildings, and much of the downtown. On the right you will see US 36, which is the major highway that leads into the city. It has been a particularly rainy spring and summer in Colorado, so the hills are much greener than they typically are at this time of year.
This image was assembled from a thousand pictures taken with a Canon T1i, 300mm lens w/ image stabilizer, and Epic 100 and stitched with the Gigapan stitching software. Photoshop was used for some minor post processing to change the exposure and to manually fix motion artifacts in the cars by copying in elements of the saved projected images files created by the Gigapan stitching software. The overall picture was fairly uniform lighting at this type of day, so I did not go with an HDR exposure (also due to the number of pictures that would have required).

A beautiful July 4th concert featuring the National Repertory Orchestra and the Lake Dillon Theatre performers. See how many American flags you can spot!
Created using a Canon T1i and Gigapan Epic 100. APG output to HDR to Photomatix for tone mapping to accentuate the holiday colors and scenic background, then blended HDR and standard exposure shots by hand in Photoshop to eliminate motion bluring of the people in the scene.
