Upper Lead King Trail (Basin or Loop?), a narrow Jeep trail, showing photographer's shadow (Dan Ritchie) to left.
Several mountains are shown, including 14ers (over 14,000 ft.).
Can anyone name the mountains in view?
To the left, the twin peaks of two mountains are connected. One climb takes one from the peak of one to the other before arriving home again.
The gigapanorama makes the 4x4 trail appear to take a U-turn here, but it was really straight. Miles before this, it was so narrow we often had to back up to let people go by. The passings we remembered most were those made on slopes of small boulders with high dropoffs, not this more peaceful meadow. Previous to this view, the 4x4 trail passed through a dark, cool canyon in the deep valley you see.
We believe that the mountains you see include the Maroon Bells, Capitol Peak, Snowmass, and possibly Crystal Peak.

This was taken during a trip that included Independence Pass, Colorado (panorama on left), beautiful sky, an incredible rainbow that appeared to be in front of a mountain (at Idaho Springs, CO), a golden Denver sky (layers of sun and shadow in the sunset), and finally a garden -- all within the space of a few hours. Not pictured: also hail. Right pictures were added to enlarge the size of it, but they tell the story of extreme and varied weather that day.
The left panorama was taken by the wrong camera, but worked out well anyway, with snaking river reflecting the sky.
Geocode location is approximate - probably to the right of the x (pass), going downhill on Rt. 82.
Can you find a dog?

Two views of mountains from Lead King Loop, a narrow 4x4 trail with splendid, varying views, ranging from cool drives through dark valleys at the foot of huge evergreens to these sunny meadows with expansive mountain views, plus a person in the middle. These were put together because the single views weren't big enough to upload, plus the combination is sort of interesting!
How many jeeps do you see?
One of the snapshots shows an area towards Snowmass and Aspen that I thought might be manmade?

In this gigapan there were only 2 musicians who look like 5: 2 singers, 2 keyboard players, and one French horn player. There's one more hidden person. Can you find the image of a living person? Can you take a snapshot of the words, "The Importance of Music" or the light that is above us?
--------Why? This was to show an idea that might be placed on Google Earth:
1. capture performers from inside the group (shown here); and
2. from the audience view (as of Inauguration Day), http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=15374 then
3. add a music file - a link to hear the music at the same time, such as this National Geographic video of a blind musician from Talledega, Alabama, zip code 35160: http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/0403/feature6/multimedia/ft6_vi_01.asx and
4) a still photograph of the musicians....All placed on Google Earth.

The whole street seems to smile in this gigapan taken during a snowstorm. Snowflakes show up more on the left. This is a suburb near Pittsburgh, Pa.
