Geological contact between the older crystalline rocks and the overlying sandstone.
The blue at the end is there to make the panorama large enough for the site.

The southern sudatorium with a mosaic originally thought to represent Leto's children Apollo and Artemis killing Niobe's children with arrows. The latter who has 14 children, belittles Leto for having only two. Some authorities, however, claim that this mosaic represents a battle between man and the Amazons.

The rock layers, inclined down to the left are cut by a fault, inclined down to the right. Notice the offset of the layers. Those on the right (upper) side of the fault have slipped down relative to those on the other side. This is defined as a normal or dip-slip fault.

Note the contrast between the lower rocks consisting of Proterozoic granite intruded by a number of mafic dikes and the overlying Cambrian and Ordovician sandstone layers.

This piece will fall soon. The steep walls of the Siq are cause by erosion and then fracturing along these cracks.

Note that the fractures are aligned with the Siq here. This shows that erosion along the fractures created this very narrow ravine.
